Three Rivers show had the one year long running on CBS where it had been aired on every Sunday for about an hour each time. This series had been set in Pittsburg, and had been the fictionalized hospital series. Their leading character in this series would be their famous surgeon who was Dr. Andy Yablonski which had been played by Alex O’Loughlin.

After this show had went gone on-air for about 1 year it had been unexpectedly yanked off and then there had been news about it ever returning for the longest time. But, CBS January 2010 had told the media this show had been cancelled and never will be aired again.

The TV show which was moderately popular among the people told the stories of organ donors and the lives of various hospital personnel who deal with the life and death of several patients each day. The show has a lot of emotionally touching moments when dealing with patients who need organ transplants and also the circumstances under which people donate their organs.

Leading this team of nurses and doctors at their organ transplant hospital would be the witty and very patient Andy Yablonski who is a doctor that was a pure workaholic. Alex O’Louglin played this role and is currently doing movies.

One of the other important characters in the drama series is Dr. Miranda Foster who is a hot tempered surgery expert who is trying her best to live up to her deceased father’s medical field reputation and her role in the series is played by Katherine Moennig. Two of the other doctors are Dr. David Lee who is a womanizer and his role in the series is played by Daniel Henney and Dr. Sophia Jordan who is an impatient person and her role is played by Alfre Woodard.

The series featured a number of supportive roles as well. Included among these was Ryan Abbot, a transplant coordinator played by Christopher Hanke, and Pam Acosta, Dr. Yablonski’s best friend and eccentric operating assistant. Justina Machado played the role of Pam.

How many female directors do you know of in the Hollywood industry? It is not really a shocker to know that Kathryn Bigelow is often called the best female action director. She earned herself that name after her two big movies in the 90′s. The movies were called “Point break” and “Strange days”. After all these years, she has suddenly come out of the blue to reclaim what she had long since had, the title. In the movie you will see that she has put in all the experience that she has to make the best she can.

The immediate reaction when people hear that the Hurt Locker is a film based on Iranian war is that they start thinking its something to do with the politics of that country. This is not a movie of that kind. This movie could have been located anyone under different circumstances. The main spotlight is on the Americans in Iran and their day to day feelings. The cost of living too has been shown to be ever increasing in the movie which is the truth of life as of today.

The movie come straight to the point starts off with the first scene itself describing a very intimidating scene. The first scene itself introduces the main actors to the public as they try to dispose a bomb. The actors are in a bomb disposal unit of a company called Bravo. Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) is what these professionals have been trained in. Sgt. Thompson (Guy Pearce) leads the disposal team and he does nothing but throw his weight around. Sanborn played by Anthony Mackie comes to be known as an alert team member while Elderidge played by Brian Geraghty is just a new member on the team. This very scene tells us what to prepare for the rest of the movie.

Sgt. James takes over the position of Sgt. Thompson in the later part of the movie. At this point Thompson only seems meek and troubled but James on the other hand is enjoying his tryst with danger again. He makes sure that all of the old safety measures are not followed. He implements his own rules and regulation to which Sanborn and Elderidge fall victim later.

Incidents keep taking place as the movie keep on. All the incidents are somehow a depiction of the first scene itself. All in all in the end the director is only trying to get us to know what is going on in James’ head and why is he always trying to run behind danger?

The encounters in the movie are built in a very episodic manner. The best part about this is that the suspense is still maintained. Bigelow’s idea to use hand held camera’s to produce gritty scenes worked extremely well. The end is a bit unsatisfactory. The way the story was built up becomes it weakness and then the end that was chosen just seems dull and lifeless. Ending the movie with two speeches was not such a good idea after all.
