Family tie, love and respect among family members and absolute fun with bone tickling comedy come together in the series “My Wife and Kids” telecasted on ABC Network. The anxiety, thoughtfulness, support and above all love for the family of a man is depicted wonderfully in this series. Damon Wayans acts in the role of Michael Kyle a happily married man with 3 children which consist his entire world. The man is always busy to give the lessons of life to his entire family with moral values mixed with humorous dialogues. The serious issues are dealt with light hearted comedy in this show.

The story shows a solvent African American family in Stamford with a father owning a truck company. The mother Jay is a lawyer. Their son Jr. his girlfriend Vanessa and their baby boy. Michael and Jay’s senior high school daughter Claire and their baby daughter little Kady. This is a well knit family, attached with love and emotional bonds.

As the story continues the family goes through many phases in life. The family members have to face different undulations in the path of life. But all their problems and how they overcome them are not shown in a harsh way, on the contrary each problem itself and each solution itself bring lot of fun and comic relief to the audience. The father is always alert and ready to speak with his children about the rights and wrongs of life. Michael offers his wife a job in his company when she is laid off from her stockbroking job. To resume her career Jay starts her studies again and plans to go for restaurant business. The most confused character among all is Jr. who seems to be a bit nervous with his present status as the father of a new born baby. Here again Michael stands beside his son and supports him in every possible way, but he is doubtful about his son’s maturity level. Claire has an overprotective father. Michael remains so tensed about his grown up daughter that he doesn’t even want to let her daughter go on dating. Finally he is satisfied when Claire maturely makes her father understand that wherever she goes and whoever she marries she will remain her father’s little daughter forever. Little Kady has the funniest problem of all. This girl thinks that all the attention of the family members have gone to the baby boy of Jr. and Vanessa. The whole family convinces her that she will always be their dear one.

My Wife and Kids reflects a family picture where mutual love and support are the main strength. The lesson is to be positive whatever happens in life. But the reality is shown in such a way that the audience will be floored with bursting laughter.

Different characters are played by a group of talented artists. Tisha Campbell plays Jay and Damon Wayans is Michael Kyle, Jr. is done by George Gore III and Jennifer Freeman portrays Claire. Parker Posey acts as Kady.

ABC’s effort in making a good comedy series is really paying off as the audience is already in love with the show.
