The Rocky Horror Picture Show vinyl LP sleeve on the Ode album has always been a favorite of mine. It was designed by John Pasche of Gull Graphics and has a very different style from other Rocky Horror merchandise. Before I was old enough to see the film during its midnight circuit, I would listen to the soundtrack and examine the sleeve artwork and wonder what it was like to see the movie. This is a tribute to the Ode record.

I love this! I wonder if Richard O’ Brien has seen any of these? I bet he’d love em!
… the only real things in life are B Movies and their soundtracks… everything else is vanity and vexation of spirit…
all the best B-movies mentioned
Great video, lovely work.
I love the artword for the original soundtrack. I would do the same thing-stare at the pictures and hope to see the film in theaters someday. The best way to let an obsession grow uncontrolably is to restrict it until your 16 years old!
thats why its my…favotire obsession
lol
this is ace
John Pasche had this to say: “It began as a commission for the original film poster and the sleeve was for the soundtrack released at the same time. As far as I remember, the brief was to make the film design different from the stage version graphics as not to be confusing. I think I had a fairly open brief except for the fact that I needed to show stills from the film. I was doing some airbrush illustration at the time, hence the treatment of the three principal characters on the front.”
