Mick Ferry: Sod It!’s description : Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide

It might have already felt, in recent days, as if the apocalypse was coming but Mick Ferry reminds us that we should be putting the actual date in our diaries as 21st December 2012, when Mayan prophecies dictate that the sands of time eventually run out for us.

It so happens that his girlfriend ‘s birthday falls on the same day and so, apart from moving celebrations to the night before, it has set Ferry thinking about contingency plans and how impending doom has prioritised the size of his worries. It

Do you think MSNBC will have live coverage of the end of the world in 2012?

I wonder if they would really have a count down to Armageddon, that would be funny.

That will a reelection year for MSNBC.

LIve from "Hell's Kitchen".

Do you think MSNBC will have live coverage of the end of the world in 2012?

What are some beliefs on HOW the world is going to end in 2012?

I am doing a project for English, on the myth of the 2012 Armageddon.
What are some ways that people, anyone, cultures, etc, believe that the world is going to end?
Do they think it will burn? Will there be a tsunami?
I want to know what people think will happen, and how it is going to end.

The end of the world will begin with a world wide earth quake, on MAY 21 2011, the likes of which has never been seen before in human history.
After 5 months of torment on earth the universe will be burned up by God.

I have this information on ultimate authority from the Bible.
The Bible declares the end is going to begin with the rapture on MAY 21 2011.
The Bible is the ultimate authority on truth and today the prophecy of Daniel 12 is being fulfilled.
((DANIEL 12:4 but thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. ))
Today the book is unsealed and knowledge is being increased almost daily. many are running two and fro to tell the world of the pending end.
To know 100% truth however, I can't give it to you because the rules of this forum prevent me from sending you to the websites you need to understand this very detailed study.
You must do your own homework by searching the internet for MAY 21 2011 or WECANKNOW or FAMILY RADIO.
Before you do, you need to sit down and say a quiet prayer to God that He leads you to his truth and protects you from people who tell you "no man knoweth the day or the hour". Yes this is written in the Bible but 1Corinthians Chapter 2 will show you that these words are for the unsaved condition of man. Saved man "Has the mind of Christ" and can know all things that are revealed by the Holy Spirit. (Read 1Cor2 and substitute "true gospel" for the word "things". Once you do you can easily see how we can know.
Remember if you don’t pray then you are not asking for his help, you are only trying to figure it out by yourself. I promise, that will not work.
God Bless and remember: when the end comes, He is our only hope.

Well, some people believe that:
-the Earth will implode
-all forces of nature (i.e.hurricanes, floods, etc) will be thrown at us
Or, in religious terms, satan might come and destroy us all.
hope that helps!

Vogon construction ships will bulldoze Earth into oblivion due to construction of a new hypergalactic highway.

It won't end in 2012. . .

The earth will be here forever. Ps 37:29, Ps. 104:5, Matt. 5:5.

The Mayans and everybody else got it wrong. Soooooo.

The FSM will consume us all and then defecate the outcome to create a new race of super pirates.

Read the Book of Revelations, you'll find your answer there.

What are some beliefs on HOW the world is going to end in 2012?

What do you think about the world ending?

I totally think the world will end either 2012 or some other day. It could be by zombies, terrorist attacks, or people going crazy. I am starting to learn how to defend myself, how to live in the wilderness in any conditions and I am learning to shoot guns. I want to know what everyone else thinks about this. if you call me crazy I don't care because I will laugh in your face when you are one of the stupid people who dies first. Please tell me what you think because I want to talk to the people who agree by email. (bigkla@hotmail.com)

P.S. all you GOD people, I am not trying to predict when the world ends but if you read the bible it clearly states in Revelations that the world will end.

I hate to sound pessimistic, but…if the world is going to end, no amount of self defense or survival skills will help you. you may laugh at the ones who die first, but you will eventually die too. In a way, each of us will experience the end of the world, either through personal death or a world wide Armageddon.

I think the world will end some day, but I have way too much going on in my life to worry about it. if you choose to spend your time preparing for armageddon, fine. Knock yourself out. Either way, by definition, when the world ends, we're all dead. I'm going to enjoy my time. Happy trails!

o my god… how scary…zombies.. I swear I've been terrified of the end of the world since I can remember. now that I'm older, I'm just scared for my children to be scared or suffer. my husband walks aroud saying "2012" just to get me worked up…
:(

Not with a bang, but a whimper.

I agree the world as we know it will end. There are many theories such as the Mayan prophecy which is about the 2012 thing you mention. It is also good that you are preparing for change. There is a lot of information on my youtube page on these topics…www.youtube.com/menomonee56. There are many other websites you can check out also. It's best to be prepared. we hope for the best, prepare for the worst. And yes, being a "GOD" person, you MUST be certain you're right with him by asking Jesus into your life. Please see the websites listed.

What do you think about the world ending?

Do you really think the world will end in 2012?

Some people say the world will end on December 12, 2012 (12/12/12). I really think it's nonsense because I heard the same thing was thought in 2000 and we're still here. do you think the world will end in 2012? and where did both of these rumors (the world ending in 2000 and the world ending in 2012) even start?

Actually the date given is 12/21/2012 which is the end date of the Mayan calendar. People have predicted the end of the world since the beginning of recorded history. The date is as good as all the ones in the past except this one has the possibility of being right until 12/22/2012. Then it goes into the same class as the rest of the doom sayers. See webaddress below for more information….

No, I believe in Armageddon. I believe Armageddon will happen seven years after the Global Government forms from the Anti-Christ. I also believe that all those who follow the Global Government will be unable to receive God's forgiveness from their sin. for more information check out my sources.

Nah, I think it's a bunch of bull.

My reason?
Well, the Mayans had this guy make a giant Calender. One guy. No one else, just him, everyday writing the next date in the calender.
We discover the caldener and noticed that it had just stopped.

I don't think it stopped because that's when the world's going to end.
I think it just stopped because the man with the sole responsibility of making the calender probably DIED. He had to go sometime, and no one else was appointed the task to finish the calender.

So, no, I highly doubt the world is going to end in 2012.

The 2012 thing has to do with the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar ends at 2012. It doesn't say the world ends that's just have far they had it projected forward. Some people have taken that to mean that the world will end in 2012.

It's bull because if it was true the whole frickin world would be in panic where people would kill each other in panic and to fight other for what's left. People are gonna be like since I'm dieing lets enjoy our selves which could lead to Drugs, violence and etc. Is it happening? No it isn't

LOL! Dec. 12 is my birthday! that be cool, but nope I don't believe in that crap. yes, they said the same thing 9 years ago…and hey! We're alive!

To tell you the truth, if it does end, I don't care anymore, as long as I don't feel a thing I'll be fine….

But no, I don't. =]

The 2012 date comes from the Mayan calendar. The History Channel brought it to everyone's attention not too long ago.

The world will never end. The age we live in will come to an end. if you ever read any history you will see ages run in cycles. The next one will be full of wars, disasters, plagues and probably an asteroid hit. See:

What Left Behind Left out and
The Apocalyptic Shaking of the Heavens
http://armageddonangelsufos.com/

Basically, a nutter named Jose Arguelles (the one that thinks he is a reincarnated Spanish Priest from the 15th century… AND the one that tried to sue the UN… yeah, him) wrote about how the Mayan calendar "ended" in 2012 and how we were all gonna die! Well, all the rest of the Mayan scholars disagreed but here we are… proving that people will believe almost anything!

You gotta believe real hard to think 2012 is anything but just a year.

Shut your eyes and clap for Tinkerbell… i mean Jose.

Might be one way of getting the british out of hosting the olympics, either way it's gonna feel like the world has ended when they host it, because it's bound to be a cock up.

I am british btw.

crop circles tell us what will happen in 2012
http://d.hatena.ne.jp/butabaevr/20081223…

Actually, it's 12/21/12, but it's nonsense, yeah.

See this page for an answer:

Unless you follow the ancient Mayan calandar and believe Aztec prophecies, you shouldn't be concerned.

"I really think it's nonsense"

There's your answer.

No.The end of the world WILL come, but it's a ways away.

I believe 2011 will end in 2012

Dooms dayers have always existed.
Take no notice of them.

I laugh at those who think it will end by then

If you wanna know the real story behind 2012 go here: http://www.2012returnofnibiru.com

It comes from people having nothing better to do.
In the year 99 B.C everyone supposedly thought the earth would end at the year 100.
In the year 999 everyone allegedly thought the would would end on the year 1000
in the year 1999 everyone DID think the would would end in 2000 but look we are still here.
Now any smart person is not scared of the year 2012, but if they are they are not smart, basically, the end of the world is a game created to scare everyone into religion to pray to God to save them and slowly take over everyones mind.

No, but hopefully your Yahoo account will.

Do you really think the world will end in 2012?

Mayan calender 2012 event: End of the world?

I personally don't think the world is going to end in 2012. Yes, i've heard about the mayan calender and how they predicted the world ending. I've heard a lot of different stories about it though. I've heard about mass flooding and that a meteor or something is going to hit us but are there any more? Which one of the many theories is the most likely to happen? Is there a main one? What do you think is the possibility of this madness coming true? Im just curious to see what answers some have found.

December 21st, 2012 is the end of the current bak'tun in the Mayan calendar. It isn't the end, nor is it a prediction of armageddon. It's simply when the calendar cycles back over. unlike our additive calendar, the Mayan calendar is cyclical and resets about every four thousand years.

A great many people, most of whom were severely disappointed when all the world's computers didn't explode on Jan. 1st 2000, are trying to panic other people into thinking 2012 is the end of the world.

I personally beleive that the world is going to go into a downward spiral of disasters. not just one thing will end it. try watching "nostradomus 2012" or another movie about the event.

I really don't think that will happen.

I think the only reason the mayans stopped at 2012 was because they couldn't count any further.

actually the mayan calender doesn't even say that the world is going to end. that's just a rumor.

the Mayan calender is like a clock, so it never really ends, it just starts over from the beginning

they mayans did NOT predict the world would end when their calendar ran out. they had a cyclic calendar and at the end of this calendar, a new cycle would begin. just like we replace our calendars every year.

Yeah, the credible sources I've read on the subject (read: not the sensationalist pseudo-journalists) all agree that the "end of the world" prophesied to occur in 2012 is nothing but the end of a certain part of the Mayan calendar and the beginning of another. People just need to calm down.

yeah the world is going to end in three years Nostradamus predicted it along with 911

The world will end, one day, regardless of who says what. It could end in 2012. Read the lyrics to the Beatles' song, "Eleanor Rigby" and you will get an idea of what may happen, in the end. Personally, I think that there will be some major change in the world but I don't see it as being a catastrophic change. For instance, it is very much possible that all of the countries in South America may unite and become one country. that would be a huge change. but I don't see it as being catastrophic.

Although it's true that Nostradamus seems to predict the end of the world, possibly in 2012, and the Mayan calender begins its new cycle, I don't worry about it too much. I mean, if it happens, it happens, no way to stop it. And if it doesn't happen, all the better for us. :P

it's not actually the end of the world. the mayan calendar is just a cycle. 2012 is just the end of the mayan calendar. they said that we'll be experiencing pole shifting, flooding, earthquake, volcano eruptions, storms, and meteors all at the same time at Dec. 21, 2012. they also said that we'll be having 2 suns in that day because the planet x(long lost sibling of the sun) will return. However, it's not only the mayans who predicted it, even the I Ching, Merlin(the wizard), the bible(revelation), the web-bots and the cybils all predicted that the world will end in that date. I think it's a big coincidence and just all made up.
i don't personally think that the world will end because people made all of that up to become rich and famous.

nope the calendar just resets itself. why? i dont know.

I have heard that too and about these Asian scroll/s that someone found and a person made a time line of the events of what was written on the scroll/s and the dates are the same as major disasters, and the destruction's of one empire by another, once the guy was done translating the scroll/s the last date and end of the world was on 12-12-2012 just like the Mayan calender. Also read Revelations in the Bible it talks about the beast and the last days of Earth. I have also heard of a giant computer in europe somewhere that is called the beast and that everyone will be marked with a computer chip in their body somewhere possibly their hand or wrist to link them to that computer. if you would read the bible it says in there that after God flooded the Earth the first time God promised Noah with the symbol of a rainbow in the sky that the world would never be destroyed by water again. You'll just have to wait until the end to find out just pray that it wont happen in your life time because I doubt that it will be something you'd want to see.

If your going to read an answer. Read this one. First a little about the mayans they based their predictions..well almost everything on their map. or calendar whatever. Andyways they believe that in this earth there atre 5 cycles and in each cycle there are 5 sections and at the end of those sections something bad will happen. And after the sections (each section it gets worse until it closes the first cycle) and at the closing of that cycle is a big catastrophe. now the cycles repeat themselves. Example" let's say january is a cycle. Well on jan 5th something bad happened. Well when january finishes and feb. Starts on the 5th of feb something 2 times *** bad happens because its the 2nd cycle. now the weird thing is the great deppression the holocaust (spelling) they where all at the end of the calendars cycle. Meaning they knew and it got bloodier and bloodier. they believe there only can be 5 cycles with the last cycle being the worst and what they belive "the end of time" now we are on the 5th cycleand this cycle ends on december 2012. now they haven't been wrong so far. they have prophesized a lot of american ctastrophes but for you people that say omg y2k bull. Well guess what hoes the reason the mayans say that time stops is becauseon that date in december the planets where going to align and face the milky way (I forgot if they face something else) and when they aligned something bad would happen. now scientist have predicted and calculated the movents of the planets and the mayans where correct and there will be that allignment that has never happened before. What do I think? Well they say that the gravity of the planets will make the earth tilt on its own axes which can cause itto get on a path that would lead closer tp the sun ( bible says next time it will be fire not water) and I think obama is the antichrist and you know what. that may hurt my credibility but look it up. The day obama won googles #1 search was "obama antichrist" and his presidency ends in 2012!!! Idk scientifically the alignment will happen. its consequences may not be predicted but I think something real bad will happen. if with the gravity of the moon water rises. Imagine. All them bitches alligned

The 2012 hoax-off has many claims, even quite a few that are self contradicting, and many others that contradict other parts of it.

It is difficult to calculate where it began. It seems several different armageddon's sort of (slowly at first, then faster and faster as of recent months) "merged" into one.

First off, you have the Mayan Calender, (a cyclical calender) that turns over to a new Baktun on Dec. 21 (or 23 to some people's interpretations) 2012. It's the equivalent of a new year's day for them. The calender rolls over, like your car odometer would… and you car doesn't end when it ticks over to a new front digit, does it? The guy to blame for this nonsense is Jose Arguelles. Do a wiki search on him to determine if he has any understanding of archeaology or interpretation of Mayan artifacts, (credentials are lacking, imagination is not). Then decide if you wish to believe him or not.

The Planet X nonsense is the concoction of Nancy Lieder. she tried to sell books to "survive the end of the world" when this planet was suppossed to crashinto earth, or cause a pole shift, or whatever… back in 2003.

Since she didn't sell enough books, she republished it, changed the date to match with Jose Arguelles' end of the world, and, VOILA! a new money making machine with zero scientific evidence whatsoever!!! Hooray! a sucker is born every minute… And Ms. Leider wants that suckers wallet. Throw her lil sidekick Mark Hazelwood into the mix, and you have a recipe to confuse people into scaring them into emptying their wallets.

It's a shame if you ask me.

What else?

Zechariah Sitchin's Niburu?

Ooooh, don't get me started. First of all, he misinterpreted an ancient Sumerian artifact. Fudged some dates on some mass extinction periods on earth, and came up with some 2085 date for the Annunaki to come back and get the gold from earthlings that we've alledgedly suppossed to have been mining for them for a few millenia.

Problem is, Sitchin's fake planet was not intended to come in 2012, he claims it will return in 2085 (equally impossible), either way he is upset the 2012ers had no problem hijacking his planet and throwing it into the mix, not that a fake planet will come by no matter what hypothetical year you attribute to it.

Do you want me to continue?
I can certainly go into greater detail, if you would care to delve into it.

http://www.2012hoax.org

2012 is the the year of spritual awakening. not in a religious way, but in a way that we will find ourselves and our rediscover our connection with the Earth.

The Mayan prophecies speak to us of the changes towards the fifth Ajaw (fifth sun), on December 21, 2012. this date begins the period of 5,200 years. this is a cycle of wisdom, harmony, consciousness and the return of the natural order.

It is not the end of the world as many from outside of the Mayan tradition have misinterpreted it to be. The fifth cycle will be a fusion of both feminine and masculine energies. It will be a transition where there won't be any more confrontations between the polarities. It will bring balance and there won't be hierarchy of one over the other.

Also the Hopi Indians, Cherokee, Hindu scriptures (Brahma-Vaivarta Purana), and Terence McKenna's novelty theory based on the ancient I Ching are telling us that on 2012 the world will be transforming and going through great changes.

Mayan calender 2012 event: End of the world?

2012 end????????????????????

Do u think the world can actually end at 12/21/2012?????????
For my opinion it wont end cause no one knows when the world will end not even the angels in the sky!! only god knows but for u do u think it can actually end at 2012?

Do you want me to continue?

I have a whole lot more for you, if it really matters

The 2012 doomsday prophecy is a hoax, and there is plenty of scientific evidence that the world will *not* end in 2012:

The Maya didn't predict the end of the world (their calendar simply reaches the end of a cycle). they had specific names for periods of time in the millions of years; if they thought the world was going to end after a cycle of less than 6000 years, why would they bother?

The Bible makes no date-specific predictions at all.

Earth is not going to get hit by a giant planet (if it were, we would have seen it by now, and its gravity would be affecting the orbits of everything else in the solar system). no known comets or asteroids are going to hit us, either.

The sun will not line up with the center of the Milky way (it can't; the center of the galaxy is in the wrong part of the sky).

The planets are not going to align (it's physically impossible; and even if they could, their combined gravity wouldn't be enough to disrupt anything on earth).

The earth's poles will not abruptly reverse (the geographic poles can't; the magnetic poles can, but it takes thousands of years).

The sun will not flare up and poison the earth (it goes through regular 11-year cycles of solar flare activity, and 2012 is just another peak).

Nostradamus didn't give any specific dates for anything (he was too smart to make that mistake in his "predictions", which the 2012 doomsayers aren't).

Destructive earthquakes happen all the time, and they can't be predicted for a specific date (or even a specific year).

Nuclear wars have been predicted since nuclear weapons were invented. we haven't blown ourselves up yet, and there's nothing special about 2012 that would make things any different.

Do you remember the Y2K doomsday predictions? The 2012 doomsday predictions are just as accurate. The people behind the 2012 hysteria are in it for the money. they sell lots of books and videos to people who don't know any better. a lot of them were saying the same thing about 2003, and when the earth survived they picked 2012 because of the supposed significance of the Mayan calendar. When 2012 comes and goes and we're all still here, they'll just pick another date and sell more books and videos.

Everybody keeps saying that the world is going to end in 2012. And if you look at all of the answers that have been posted in a whole lot of different web sites. they all give you different answers. I guess the first way is going to be when the ice cap melts and the water begin to rise to drown out the coastal areas. Once that's done comes the eruptions of either one volcano being of course our favorite Yellowstone or maybe it's going to be a few smaller ones. Next it's suppose to be the real bad wars, well I can see that after all with two disasters happening one right after the other we have to go into war we are all going to be fighting for what's left of food and water.

Now lets not forget about the new and old disease's that will come from all of these disasters. then the final disaster that is suppose to happen in 2012 is the meteorite that will hit the earth with such force we will all go into the ice age. So if we can survive all of these disasters and make through the ice age my answer will be no there will not be an end to earth just a new beginning. are you ready for it.

My prediction is earth will begin again on June 9, 2013. now what year sounds good to you.

The Mayan Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That's all there is to it. The Mayans themselves never predicted the end of the world would happen at that time.
All the doomsday predictions attached to this date are, without exception, unscientific nonsense, perpetrated by frauds and hoaxers.

It is possible that the world could end but it is highly unlikely the mayan calender ends which means it is the end of an era and a start of a new era.

No. It's a spiritual paradigm hoax.

2012 end????????????????????
