Who is it that teaches Mayan prophecies have Zero doctrine about Dec 2012 prophecies?

is this man a disinformation psyop propagator, or is everyone else wrong
or is he telling the truth.

I believe this is just another way for psych/soc academics to try to explain things that they cannot otherwise understand. in other words, any time faith is involved, you cannot adequately rationalize the fruits or effects of faith. Thus, the academics try in words to explain spiritual matters in a way to humanize it. this sits well with people who don't have enough faith to believe in spiritual things.
As concerns the coming apocalyptic scenarios, much of which comes from prophesy, civilizations and societies around the world have versions or variations of the "end of the world". your article tries to say that this is a natural way for man to cope with the fear of his own death. I disagree and rather think that this is simply a corrupted result of ancient prophesy being handed down through the ages.
So, to answer your question, I would put him in the "disinformation psyop propagator" category.

The Mayan time was different than ours. we used letters from Spanish settlers and military people to come as close as we could to matching our time line with theirs. we don't know if it is exactly right on. It could be off by up to 50 years according to other matchings. so, even if it is real it may not even predict an even on 2012. It may have already passed or my come 50 years later.

I do wonder why we put so much faith into a civilizations' power to predict the future end of the world when they couldn't even predict their own end and worshiped their enemies as their returning gods at first. They obviously weren't that good if they considered themselves wrong about their prediction of their gods return and also had no idea when they would be wiped out.

might wanna reword that whole communicative mess….

Who is it that teaches Mayan prophecies have Zero doctrine about Dec 2012 prophecies?

End of The World, December 13th 2012. Why is it this date?

I want to know the reason behind the end of the world date, REAL evidence

Its not the end of the world, its just the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. the Planets are going to line up signaling an end of an era, oh and the planets axial tilt will be changed by 1 degree. No biggie.

The Mayans ran out of room on their calendar. No worries, the hype about it will be just like the Y2K survivalists, who are still eating the MRE's they stored up for the supposed meltdown.

You'll never find any "REAL evidence", because it's bullshit.

This is completely FALSE. It is because the Mayan calender ended.

silly…there is no evidence. Its based on the Mayan Calendar, a people who couldn't even predict the collapse of their Empire

There is no evidence supporting this prediction. No evidence.

I just can't understand why some people place their faith on extinct ancient tribes.

Because the Mayans thought it'd be funny to end it on that day, much like people getting married in Vegas on 7/7/07.

Actually, its Dec 21, 2012. thats when the Mayan calendar ends the long cycle. the last time that happened was over 25,000 years ago. There is no record of what happened then.

Well, there isn't any.

Firstly, you've got the date wrong, according to pop pseudo-science. the chief source of the 2012 craze is the Mayan calender, which completes a 5,100 year-long cycle on December 21, (not 12), 2012. It's become fashionable to presume that the Mayans predicted an end time of sorts, but there's no real conclusive interpretation of their theology or cosmology which supports that.

The Mayan date does, interestingly, coincide with a known astrological event: the linear arrangement of the earth, the sun, and the approximate center of the Milky way Galaxy–to correct the answer above, it's this event and not the Mayan calender which operates on a 25,000+ year cycle. It's in debate as to whether that was an intentional astrological calculation on their part, or simply a stroke of Mayan luck.

A little spooky? oh sure, maybe. but I suspect the biggest thing to fear will be end-time whackos panicking.

I've only heard December 21st.

And it's because the I Ching and the Mayan calender both end on the exact same date. Plus more vague references like Nostradamus and Merlin ("prophet" Merlin, not wizard Merlin), along with a few others all cite about this time.

Nostradamus said change the way we live *or* perish. All or any of them can refer to the figurative end of our current way of life, and the beginning of a new way that is less destructive to humans, animals, and the world.

It's either going to be a shift in the collective consciousness or nothing at all, in my opinion.

real evidence? there is none.
using common sense? there shouldnt be any worry either.

There isn't really real evidence, There's evidence to suggest it.
Patrick Geryl believes the end of the world is on 2012 because the aztecs predicted a a Solar burst (or something like that), and it happened. they made a calender showing all the sun cycles or something, and it shows that the end of the world is on December 13th 2012. Patrick Geryl published a book on this, probley making alot of money.his website has information about it if you want to read about it.

Think about It…twelve….Thirteen….twelve.
Twelve Days Before Christmas..!?!
What is half of twelve………………………….SIX
What is Thirteen Minus Seven………………..SIX
And half of twelve Again……………………….SIX

Footnote: Is it a coincidence that I'm the Thirthteenth Person to answer this question? Huh?

Some are using biblical interpretation re: different numbers (ie, days, weeks, generations) to come to this date. I don't think it's even a possibility. the reason is because the Bible teaches that there will be 7 years of tribulation AFTER the rapture (taking away, catching away, etc) of the church. Since that has not happened yet, then the soonest is in 2015….soon 2016. and they are talking about the world "as we know it." There will be a new heaven and a new earth.

It's Dec 21, 2012.

"There is no real evidence, it is only FOR SALE."

"Books went up FOR SALE before the 'Y2K Craze',
that was also the Birth of the FREE Internet, and
the pocket-sized, hand-held, prepaid, 'flip phones'."

"Many books will be published concerning this date,
marking 'the End of the World'. Not to mention, all
the [science-fiction] Motion Pictures."

"likewise, they will all be….. FOR SALE!"

The Aztec or Mayan calender was so precise it came to within seconds of what has come to pass. the last date on this calendar was/is what turns out to be 12/12/2012. this is your main source for such a date, I do not have ay sources aside from telling you to search google for the Aztec or Mayan Calender. I will say, however, if you are a messianic believer or believe in the end of the world, this is likely( as all things are possible with our King) to be the beginning of tribulation, the onset of eternity to come.

sorry ,no evidence .just a very old calendar .

The warranty runs out on December 12, 2012. I bet we'll be wishing we had bought the extended service plan.

LOL — that's my sixtieth birthday. I doubt if I will feel that it is the End of the World.

Have no fear of man made predictions as God's word says plainly:
Matthew 24:36 : "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father"

This is a man made prediction. God's word the bible states that the earth will never be made to totter ( 1 Chronicles 16:30; Psalm 24:1, 2)
No one on this earth will be able to destroy it. God's day of Armageddon is coming. He will not destroy the earth though, only the people who do not listen to him from his word in the bible. now is the time to listen to God through his word and get a accurate knowledge of Him and his son. —John 17:3

End of The World, December 13th 2012. Why is it this date?

Who believes in the end of times in 2012? just curious..?

curious because i'm not to sure of what to believe in myself.. it's just that allot of church going people believe in the 2012 thing but then again their beliefs tell them to believe in Armageddon.and i don't know just wondering other peoples opinions let me know.. thanks peace

I believe in what is today but better yet prepared for we don't really know what lies tomorrow, so instead of worrying or thinking what will happen in 2012, better think of the things that you wanted to do in life for only God knows when will then end of the world be. Stay happy, believe in yourself and have faith.

Huh? Dying in 2012? Where'd you get that from?
*Laugh* just move on with your life. Live, laugh, and don't worry. Heck, I'd be too hyper to understand! Were going to live a while. I believe in God and love him with all my heart. Don't like it? Bite me.

John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Zlatko Burić, Morgan Lily, Liam James, John Billingsley, Thomas McCarthy, Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson.

It is nothing but BS. it has been distorted from a notion that the Mayan calendar indicates the end. not of the world but of the current cycle. people who think the world ends on that day are total and complete idiots.

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…

I hope NOBODY believes it. It's so crazy.

If you read the King James Bible, it tells you no one will know the time. So, no, no one knows.

I hope it happens but there's no chance of it happening. ZERO

In 2013,I will watch 2012 and laugh really hard……

I believe it… but there is a reason, I have my financial plans ready for until 2035 just in case… :)

oh yes, me and my friends will ride and wreak divine havoc on the land

Who believes in the end of times in 2012? just curious..?

Do Christians Believe in 2012?

As the year 2012 approaches the theories and predictions about what will happen are reaching a crescendo. Almost daily it seems a new production comes out about how current evidence relate to the end of days and the end of the world in December of 2012. A common question I hear is ‘as a Christian should I believe in the 2012 prophecies‘?

To start with, let me point out that the bulk of the 2012 prophecies revolve around the end of the Mayan long count calendar. The Mayans used a large number of calendars to track the stars and seasons, and the long count calendar is part of that.

Let me point out that the Mayan calendar does not end in 2012. The Mayans believed in a sort of rebirth process with the start of each long count. This course is open to a wide range of interpretations. So at the end of this long count cycle, they believe a new cycle will begin and not that everything just ends.

As a Christian now it is interesting to point out that to put any faith in the Mayans 2012 prediction of global change of some sort is to put faith in another religion. of course are also a variety of prophets predicting the world in 2012, but the Christians are admonished not follow the teaching false prophets.

All of these protections come from New Agers that are primarily looking to cash in on the weak willed and scared people of the world. do not take this as a suggestion that you do not prepare for major world events in 2012 however.

Be prepared for chaos in 2012!

With the amount of human attention focused on something happening in your 2012 it is almost impossible or something major not happen. Humans are funny creatures and if they believe in catastrophes happening they will do their best to manufacture them.

Are you concerned about what will happen in the year 2012? many predictions call for the end of the world, alien invasions, the fall of governments and worse. will you be prepared for what may come? do your research and take a moment to go over to my site that deals with the possibilities of the 2012 predictions and what you can do to prepare for them.

2012 – End of the World – Myth or Fact?

Something will happen on December 21, 2012. what it is or how exactly it is going to go down, no one can really say yet, but something WILL happen, this much Biblical scholars, scientists, political analysts and astronomers agree. Many have interpreted 2012 to mean the end of the world – the Apocalypse – the reaping. This is largely because of a very influential, but little know ancient book called the Book of Enoch. Myth or fact? here is what you need to know.

The ancient Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world in 2012 or at least that’s what it has been interpreted as. for an otherwise technologically unimpressive civilization, the Mayan calendar has baffled scientists and archeologists with it’s precise calculations and predictions, a feat which would only be surpassed with modern technology long, long after. So maybe there is reason to at least consider the possibility of something extraordinarily happening on December 21, 2012?

Depending on your faith, on your chosen path, there are many explanations for what will happen in 2012. the famous teller of fortunes, Nostradamus, also predicted the end of the world. but rather than just being sensationalist, few have taken the time to accurately describe what can actually happen. I looked far over the internet for information and the truth is out there – but it isn’t easy to put together.

Some people believe 2012 has to do with the mysterious Planet X, which astronomers have suspected to be part of the Solar system on an inverted axis. Astronomers have come to this conclusion from observing a series of occurrences that suggest a gravitational pull from an unexplained object. This proposed Planet X would be enormous in size, maybe as big as Jupiter and would enter into close proximity to earth and the Solar system in 2012 offsetting nature in ways unimaginable – shifting the earths poles from North to South, altering the rotation of night and day until he day is but a few hours long and disintegrating the atmosphere. This theory is given some credentials from all the Hollywood films were a cosmic catastrophe forces SOME of the earths people to go into hiding underground. It’s never the ordinary people though in these movies. Are Hollywood prepping us for a collapse of society?

Another explanation and one that is far more sinister has to do with the Book of Enoch, suspected to be the oldest religious text in the world. This book was once well known and it’s influences are felt in both the Bible and Quaran but the teachings from that book were censored by the early Church because of it’s sinister accounts of Fallen Angels and Deamons and how they came to earth. In the Book of Enoch, angels (aliens?) come to the earth and take humans as their mates creating a different interbreed of humans and something else. This are the giants mentioned in the Bible, that has puzzled Christians for so long.

These angels/demons/aliens are called the Nephilim and the Book of Enoch tells us that God/The Almighty was so displeased with how they had corrupted the earth and the DNA of humans that he cast their leader Azazel into the ground (Satan/Devil). Azazel taught the humans the art of war, how to make weapons, how to harness the power of greed for personal gain. but Azazel rests deep beyond ground until it’s time for the showdown. Is 2012 that showdown? Is Azazel the Anti-Christ or the Dajjal in Islam?

Other theories about 2012 are more immediate. they have to do with the mysterious cabal of Bankers, Politicians and Old Aristocratic Families who have been controlling the world in secret while plotting for their final takeover of the world – the so called New World Order. the names for this unholy cabal are many the Illuminati, the Freemasons 33′degree, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberger Group. There’s certainly no doubt that powerful people are doing what they can these years to spread fear among the people (terrorist threats, the Patriot act).

Next is a breakdown of the US Dollar and the introduction of a World Currency which will make it much easier to control the world. This currency is already here and it’s called IMF SDR’s (Special Drawing Rights). what about the Swine Flu, the Avian Flu? Many of these people believe the earth’s population needs to be decimated. Are they preparing us for the final breakdown in 2012?

2012 – End of the World – Myth or Fact?

Do the 2012 Mayan Prophecies Foretell the End Times?

It is important when we consider the end Times in relation to the Mayan prophecy, that we first understand what the end Times actually are. they have importance both to the three branches of Abrahamic religions (those being Islam, Christianity and Judaism) as well as others who believe that apocalyptic events are near, in a soon to occur Armageddon.

For many cultures this is a period of time that will herald the start of a great deal of tribulation. There will be wars and great destruction before the final coming or return of the messiah. The identity of the messiah changes by culture and faith, but his return is to shepherd his chosen people back into an era of peace as he once again takes up his position as ruler.

Many of the foretold signs of the end times, from many faiths, have been witnessed, and continue today according to these faiths. but how did the Mayans view 2012?

We see that the Mayans referenced events that were to happen beyond this date, so they do not appear to have believed that it would be the end of the world. Yet references were made to dark times, and a god of war who would return at this time, and presumably this would lead to great changes including wars and tribulations. That they reference events at later dates shows that they did not think that this would destroy everything, but presumably that there would be change. this fits the ideas that surround the end Times.

The date is approaching that the current Mayan Long Count calendar is to end and this is the time that the events are set to begin. though we won’t know for sure until it happens, the Mayan prophecies certainly do appear to foretell the end times, but what exactly that will mean for us and what will come beyond the end remains to be seen.
