Will the world end in 2012? Are the Mayan's Correct about the world ending on December 21, 2012?

Well, is the world going to end on December 21, 2012? The mayan's maybe right about the Calender.. i can't be for sure, thats why I'm asking you.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Numerous religions have predicted numerous apocalyptic dates, and we've passed them all… world more or less intact.

The Mayans also believed that you could walk to hell through a cave in the Yucatan. I'm not sure I'd trust any of their metaphysical predictions.

Anything is possible. Personally, even if it never comes true, I find it fairly interesting. Especially that some people believe the world has ended and been remade around seven times. Whether it's true or not who knows, but it's still kinda interesting.

if u can't be sure.. neither can we, i personally don't believe so. maybe they ran out of gold tablets to write on when they were engraving their calendar of the future or something like that. Do u see everyone in a panick? i don't.

maybe the Mayan's calendar stops at december 21st 2012….

I doubt it. someone has been predicting the end of the world since the year 1.

Well, a joke I'm starting to hear going around is that when the Mayans built the calendar, they simply just ran out of space on the rock. ☺

i believe so but some people will call me crazy for that the farthest the mayens have ever been off on a major event is 12 sec.

After I watch the movie 2012, I am always wondering that is it true? does the earth disappear in the end of 2012?

yes because movies are always true, dont you know some people just have superpowers and can fly and dodge attacks and can kill dragons? maybe you should start wondering if those people are doing real things too. I mean, wouldn't it be cool if you can do that too?

what do you mean the earth will dissappear? how does a physical object dissappear? no magic tricks is going to be able to do that.

It is believed by some that the world as we know it will end in 2012 – it's thought through through global disasters. I don't know where the hell you got that it would disappear – that wasn't in the movie either! the Mayan Calendar ended on 2012 – it just stopped, and many believe it is because they predicted the 'end of the world'.
Astrologists have looked into this and found that there is a planetary alignment that year. BUT, I saw a documentary and it said that the ACTUAL, COMPLETE planetary alignment happened in 1998 and apart from my god-brother being born, nothing globally changing happened then.

I fear that the end is comming. That or ww3! I can't eat, sleep, or do anything! I have been told that there are many signs from the bible that have not been fulfilled yet…..What are they? also, I have read some things about nostradamus predicting that ww3 would happen in 2007….did he really write that or did people just make that up to scare people??? I can't find much evidence that he really did say that! I'm terrified! Somebody please clear all of this up for me so I can live my life!!!

you sound paranoid. first off i dont believe nostradomus put any actual dates in his predictions.

secondly, there have been "signs" of the end times since the book of revelation was written.

u need to come to terms with the fact that you are going to die sooner or later. no point in being so paranoid about your end.

Dear, you really need to calm down. You have no control over these things whether it's world war 3, getting hit by a car as soon as you leave the house or the 'end of the world'. Live every day like it is your last, this moment is all you have, don't lose the beauty that surrounds you right this very moment.

don't drive yourself crazy. I used to do the same thing. but if you look into history you'll see that you can find the "signs of the end times" through out time. WW1, WW2, the Black death, the fall of the Roman Empire. All these things were supposed to bring about the end times and they didn't. Nostradamus was not real….anyone can take one of his quadrants and give any meaning they want to it… Prediction's are supposed to tell you the future, but ppl read events into his writings after the event has occurred, that is not telling the future. Don't worry so much you'll be ok, I'd worry more about Global warming than anything else.

Jesus' end of Times prophecy came true about the 70's A.D.
Revelations came true about Christians being persecuted by Rome, and eventually falling itself.
Ragnarok came and went during the middle ages.
The Aztecs have seen the world end as many times as they've predicted it.

Every "end of the World" prophecy that has ever come true tends to come and go….and no one notices. why? Because while everyone is waiting for the world to blow up, what is really happening is the "end of the World….as we know it."

Jesus said in Matthew 24:14 that "the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that ALL nations will hear it" (NLT, emphasis added) … we aren't quite there yet. Surely it can't be much longer though! Amen, Come Lord Jesus!

i know 2000 isnt the only date in the past that was said the world to end or similar to that. but why are people only making a big deal out of 2012? did they make a deal with the other dates too? im not asking about 2012 im just asking why people are making a big deal of it.

The sacred Aztec calendar is properly called the Eagle Bowl. it represents the solar deity Tonatiuh. the amazingly accurate calendar has been in use in various forms for more than 2,000 years. A Zapotec prophecy, based on the Eagle Bowl, states:

i think ppl that are saying that need 2 stop i think there either over religous and believing all the crap that ppl are saying or they are so mad at there lives and need couseling there trying to ruin it for the rest of us

Lets be real if the world were to end in 3 years wouldnt this be on the news, wouldnt there be riots, and steakouts, and hell on earth.

Were not ready to die we have so much more to do

December 21st 2012 is the very end of the Mayan "long count" calendar. you can google the date. also there is one Mayan book surviving called the "Dresden Codex" that has helped the translation of the calendar and other Mayan writings.

Most scholars agree that the date will not be the end of the world, per se, but the Mayans certainly believed that it will mark the date of drastic change in the world as we know it ( as they knew it ).

This also dovetails with numerous other prophecies from around the world, including some American Indian legends of a coming great flood, and even "global warming" predictions.

I, myself will be in a cabin, high in the mountains, sipping wine and relaxing in a hot tub on that date, hopefully safe from whatever catastrophe befalls the world below.

There are various writings that refer to that time. but what it really means or if it means anything at all is subject to a lot of interpretation. The Mayan calendar ends then. Astrologically speaking the age of Aquarius starts then because of the end of the solar cycle of Pisces. The fish is a symbol for Christianity. So some believe that the world will end apocalyptically. Some believe it's just that the importance of Christianity will recede and/or something else will have more influence. New age belief calls it harmonic convergence or the completion of this convergence.

I would like to believe that it is the dawning of a new more enlightened era. In the mean time which ever belief you subscribe or don't subscribe to it's a good opportunity to remind me to act as kind and best I can. but what do I know!

It is probably true. its not part of any religion or anything, it was just that the Ancient Mayans thought it will, and they ought to know because they all lived with space aliens in flying saucers and things, and the space aliens ought to know because thats the sort of thing you are taught in college if you are a space alien.

Nobody says the world is going to end in 2012, they just mean the world will be ran very differently in 2012 or the world AS WE KNOW IT will end.

No one knows. Everyone said it was going to happen in 2000 but we are still here.

Nobody can predict when the world will end. only God knows. Don't panic. We'll all probably still be here in 2012.

Theres so much in the backround you have no idea about, i for one have not heard this rumor but i can tel u a lot of the book of revelation and how its coming to pass and its not long until we might hit a nuclear war all of a sudden, So be careful how peaceful u think the world is now, it wont be like this forever.
And the media are controlled by leaders, and if the leaders say don't show this they don't show it but soon all of a sudden your just going to see a nuclear war threat and life will change significantly.
