"Bible records the “end days.” Included among the predictions is the annihilation of jews, except a small minority who convert to Christianity. the Jews are wiped out because they refused Christ for a second time. "
“Evangelicals, Zionists & Secular Neocons” by Barry Leonardini, p32
people have been trying to wipe out the jews for ages but they haven't done yet.
Quite the opposite.
Read Jerusalem Countdown by John Hagee.
He uses and cross references scripture to show his point.
In reality, God will PROTECT the Jews and give them all the opportunity to see the Messiah.
The "remnant" that you speak of is who will prophesy to the nations of the world. 144,000 representing the 12 tribes of Israel
Once again the Bible was used for the wrong purpose. the Bible was used for predicting the future and not for the reason it was intended. the sole purpose of the Bible and the new Testament in particular was to show people how THEY should live their lives. Not for history, science, or predicting the future.
The end days predicted in the bible were actually about the reign of the emperor Nero, who, unsurprisingly, was seen as the great demon by early Christians. the idea that Revelations is a prediction of the end of the world in our times is mistaken and misguided. the unscrupulous as usual use and abuse such ideas for their own ends. the Bible was and is a guide to living, not a means of predicting the future
I wouldn't take the Bible too seriously on much, to be honest. It's a cracking work of semi-fiction but that's about it.
But hey, if you listen to all the Christians I've managed to annoy I'm going to hell anyway and my opinion clearly doesn't matter. How, in hindsight, can I go to a Christian idea of the afterlife when I don't actually believe in it?
Of course, what the Christians should be saying, according the Bible, is I forgive you. Amazing how many seem to have forgotten that… and that little bit about not killing anyone.
If you read the real Bible, you would see that it will be everyone else who will be wiped out – in the war of Gog & Magog.
Israel will survive, as always.
The bible is fiction. Nothing more. so another words, get a life.
the jews will come to the point of anhialation, at that point the saviour comes and destroys all the enemies of israel, not just the jews but all the israelite tribes. exept evil israelites will share the fate of their enemies, then you have spiritual israel, these are the ones who have accepted the saviour but are not of israelite blood.
Every once in a while, some nutter comes to try and wipe out the Jews.
Its a complex theological issue but safe to say that according to the new Testament Jews can only be saved through Christ since he is regarded as the true Son of God and Messiah. From Romans 9-11 it is clear that true Jews ie. those who know Christ will be saved. this, however, is no excuse for anti-Semitism, racism or scapegoating of Jewish people. Jesus himself was, after all, Jewish. Many of my friends are Jewish and I believe that we owe a great debt to the Jews for the great contribution they have made to western culture over millenia.
What seems more likely is that the surviving Jews will have to convert to Islam.
Who cares? why do not you read anything from the ancient Greek philosophers? They have a lot more creative thinking and they do not want to wipe out anyone or read what Jesus has said, he is not talking about eliminations or wars. It is clear that Bush does not believe in Jesus, probably he believes in Lucifer.
This is purely a Christian perspective, and probably a twisted one as well. Being Jewish I don't have a "new Testament" anyway, so none of that has any meaning for me.
Which Bible? does anybody seriously think the Bible of the Judaic and Christian peoples is the only Bible?
And even if it was, what grounds exist to imagine that it has some special significance? why not instead make a big deal of the Egyptian Book of the Dead? the Avestas of Zoroastrianism? the Hindu Upanishads and Baghavad Gita? the Analects of Confucius? the Book of Mormon? Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard? who cares what any Bible says any more than the others? What is the test of truth – words in books, or facts?
