I know this probably isn't a big issue to most people, but it is to arceologist and me.I find these kinds of mysteries interesting and I want to learn more. I looked up many things on the internet about the crstals skulls and I read about how most of them are scattered around the world. some might be in jungles and the seas. Mayan legend say that 2012 is the Doom day of the world and only the crystal skulls can save us. that also means that im only going to be 19 years old by that time. what do people think about this whole mystery thing?

I think you have mistaken a movie for fact. probably the reason for this is that you're currently 15. It's just a story. Archaeologists are not looking for skulls. no astronomer thinks anything is going to happen. just a story. Not fact.

First of all, scientists say the Mayan calendar cannot be coordinated with the Gregorian calendar, so no one can really give any such precise date as 2012 based upon it. There is no talk of doomsday, except what some charlatan invented. There are many cycles on the Mayan calendar, and no one knows when they began or will end. There is no mystery, unless it is why anyone would believe such obvious nonsense as this. There is much nonsense on the internet. my sister and my cousin find plenty of it. Are you taking Indiana jones seriously? what sane person knows or cares if there are any more crystal skulls?

Fluxology's answer is completely correct, the crystal skulls we have are modern things that were made recently then passed off as ancient. that alone tells you there's nothing to this.

But as an addition, it should also be pointed out that the mayans did NOT predict doomsday in 2012. They predicted the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new cycle, and for them it was a time of celebration. They predicted 2012 was a GOOD thing. It's just all the new age crackpots who twisted it into a doomsday thing.

i dont know about the indiana jones thing about the crystal skulls but that would be one way to explain the pyramids and all the ancient structures. its actually a good theory. but im not sure about the mayan 2012 dooms day thing cause they were pretty advanced in math in astronemy, so i dont know about that but they are all pretty good theorys.
