2012 – 7 Reasons Why the World Ends on December 21 – 2012

By Gerard Le Flamand

Scientists around the globe agree and are unanimously predicting that “life on Earth as we know it” could end on or around December 21st, 2012. Amongst them, several believe that it will be invoked by humans, but the majority is convinced that nature in a universal way will be the cause of the dramatic changes. Several religious leaders worldwide however are stating that it will be an act of God and that Judgment Day will come upon us at that time. Whichever theory you tend to follow, it is remarkable for once that all visions are on the same wavelength as to the impact on mother Earth. These are seven reasons why scientists and non-fiction predictors are convinced that the world as we know it will end on December 21st, 2012:

Reason #1 – The End of the Mayan Calendar:
The oldest and most researched source of the end was derived from the Mayan Calendar that indicates that times end on this day. The Mayans are considered a highly intelligent race who must have possessed far developed technologies which to date nobody alive can even start to comprehend. They were also a bloodthirsty race and some of their key characteristics involved building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and sacrificing virgins.
Not only did they live in an era immediately before the previous major global event, about 11,500 years ago, they were able to calculate the lunar moon as 329.53020days, only 34 seconds off.
The Mayan calendar has set the end of the Earth on December 21, 2012. Their prediction is to be taken serious as at that time, the accuracy of calculating the lunar moon so close, the likelihood of their calculation being accurate yet again is extremely high.

Reason #2 – Sun Storms:
The media in general does not like to cover topics that are hard to explain, except for some of the supernatural channels that are rarely visited by the self-claimed “realistic” viewers. However scientists are on the ball when it comes to observing the sun and its activities with the relatively high-tech equipment we know today. And they have made a mesmerizing discovery when it comes to its activities lately. Few years ago, the sun dramatically increased its radiation energy to levels much higher than registered in a long time. Its behavior definitively is cyclic and there is a clear 11+ year recurring cycle. Now, a couple of years after the last serious activity increase, 2012 announces the height of the 11+ years cycle announcing much higher activity than already measured in recent years.
Since the recent storms already accounted for knocking out power grids and destroying satellites, there is a very clear indication that the next round in 2012 will be of previously unseen magnitude impacting our planet and the technology in orbit of it. Calculations suggest it will reach its deadly peak sometime late in 2012.

Reason #3 – The European Atom Smasher:
European Scientists are finalizing the construction of the world’s largest particle accelerator ever conceived. To describe it in simplified terms, it consists of a 27 kilometers tunnel designed to smash atoms together in the anticipation of finding out what makes the Universe tick.
With reason, this mega-project has already caused serious concerns where several renowned scientists have expressed their deep concerns about flipping the ON-switch. Amongst their predictions of all kinds of lethal events, mini black holes are probable to be created. Chances are that the first mega-experiment with this latest invention may turn the globe into a matter no bigger than the size of a basketball.
Oh…that first experiment is scheduled for…2012.

Reason #4 – According to Religion
Several religions are giving us similar indications and predictions based on, amongst others, interpretations of the Bible, the I Ching (also known as the Chinese Book of Changes), as well as various sections within the Hindu teachings. All of them indicate the 21st of December 2012 as the end of the world. The Bible reveals this as the date of the Armageddon or the final battle between good and evil as well as Judgment Day.
It is expected that in the coming time as we approach D-Day, that more religious figures will speak up and lift the secrecy well kept by institutes such as the Vatican.

Reason #5 – Most Powerful Volcano on Earth
The largest volcano on earth is located underneath the Yellowstone National Park in the United States which is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. This fact has gotten geological experts very nervous and the reason for sleepless nights ever since it was linked to the upcoming events in 2012. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting approximately every 650,000. Currently we are many years past the due date for a new major eruption, which in itself is rather bizarre since the cyclic events of the planet are usually pretty accurate and thus predictable. An new explosion will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. Such a new Ice Age is due when looking at the usual cycles of Earth. And what is most alarming is that the pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang.

Reason #6 – The Physicists
Physicists at Berkeley University in the United States who use super computers to complete their highly complex formulas and calculations have been crunching the numbers and they’ve concluded as well that the Earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Their calculations prove beyond any doubt that if and when this catastrophe happens, it will impact every living being on Earth and basically wipe away entire species as we know them today. What is really scary about their calculations is the fact that they are pretty much convinced, with a certainty of 99% that all of this will come down very soon and that the best guess date is…2012.

Reason #7 – Polar Shift
The magnetic field surrounding Earth shields us from most of the sun’s radiation. This is generally know, yet what is less known is that the magnetic poles we call north and south have a habit of swapping places approximately every 750,000 years. Right the cycle is overdue by about 30,000 years.
Furthermore, scientific research has shown that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20 to 30 kilometers every year, which is much faster than ever before, and which points to a pole-shift being very nearby. During the process of a pole shift, the magnetic field is disrupted until it disappears. Sometimes it is absent for up to 100 years. As a result, there is sufficient UV radiation in the air to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.

2012 – The End of Our Civilization? A Gnostic Perspective

2012 – The End of Our Civilization? A Gnostic Perspective
By E. Arda

Recently the topic of the Mayan calendar and the end of a major cycle of time has once again been brought to the fore by some authors and the media.

The year 2012 is specifically mentioned, and many expect that the world, as we know it, will finish in that year.

This subject deserves close attention and study. Let us not forget that the Mayans arrived at a very high degree of civilization some 4000 years ago. Modern scholars have verified that the Mayans’ observations and astronomical calculations are entirely accurate in every respect, with much of their knowledge remaining beyond the scope of modern science.

Many other peoples conceived existence subjected to CYCLES OF TIME. The Aztecs, for example, divided time into different “suns”. Suns that give rise to different humanities: the Children of the First Sun, the Second Sun, and so on.

In old Europe the ancient Greeks divided the history of humanity into cycles of four ages: the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. At the end of the Iron Age (the period of greatest materialism and confusion) the Earth is renewed and a new Golden Age begins.

The same basic conception of existence is found in ancient India and its sacred books. Here even the universe itself is subjected to great cycles of time (maha-yugas), lasting for millions of years and enveloping universes, systems of worlds, planets and humanities. Here everything rests on the primary rhythm: the Breathing of Brahma, which gives rise to periods of activity and periods of rest for the whole universe (the cosmic days and nights).

Nowadays we have forgotten that life and time unfold in cycles. Today we think that time unfolds in a straight line. We have a linear conception of time (past, present and future). This is one of the consequences of our moving away from Nature. Don’t we realize that the year itself unfolds in endless cycles of spring, summer, autumn and winter as the Earth completes a revolution around the Sun?

In the Gospels themselves, Jesus clearly mentions the end of the world, not in terms of the end of the planet, but in terms of THE END OF AN AGE, therefore in terms of time. (Greek: TE SYNTELEIA TOU AIONOS). Aionos or Aion meaning “era” or “age”. And he relates it to the selection and renewal of humanity, clearly alluding to a new beginning. See for example gospel of Matthew 13: 40-43).

Now we can ask ourselves: is there a connection between the alleged end of the world in 2012 and the different zodiacal ages: the Age of Pisces, the Age of Aquarius… which follow one after the other until they complete a large cycle of time or Sidereal Year (also called Platonic Year).

Can we disregard the profound study of the zodiacal ages and their influence on the planet earth and humanity?

The sages of antiquity were well aware of them.

There is a book written in 1960 that can enlighten us about all of this, its title is The Message of Aquarius.

In it, its author explains at length everything concerning the end times and the arrival of a new humanity within a new cycle of time.

By clicking here you can read more about the book.

Save the Tree Now

The front of the Kindle 1 (Left) and Kindle 2 ...

by Larry D Keen

News papers, magazines and books printed on paper are obsolete. I can say that because I am a reader. When was 12 years old I set out to read every book in my local library, I was making good headway, but I ran into two problems they kept buying new books and I went away to college. My college library was like reading heaven, at the time it was the largest library for several states. Then came the best part, after college it was no more library for me, it became buy books and bookshelves to keep them. The point is I love to read newspapers, magazines and books but, their time on paper has come and I am sorry to say gone.

The news papers printed on paper are on the same track as say the steam locomotive. It was great for a time, it changed the world, but when it’s time came it went kicking and screaming to the museum like all the other out modes. Today, like most I read my newspapers, a total of five, the New York Times, The Washington Post and three state newspapers without touching a piece of paper. We can save the tree now, it is so obvious that news on printed paper is obsolete. I know the tree cutters, paper mills, printing press manufacturers, pressmen, ink makers, truck drivers, delivery drivers will all have adjustments to make. That is just part of that kicking and screaming on the way to the museum that will never go away.

save the tree

The magazines have been on a downward spiral since the advent of the TV newsmagazine shows like “60 Minutes”, which started in 1968. The industry has been losing its market share for over 40 years, why do we need magazines printed on paper? What are we saving? I know the presses are a better class of machine and the ink is more costly, but, we need to send them all to the museum. The kicking and screaming will be loud but we can save the tree now. The thing is most of them have an electronic version in place.
Books have been available in electronic format for years. I read ebooks on my first Palm Pilot. The industry even attempts to prevent books from being placed in electronic format. This is like the railroads fighting the advent of the passenger airline, why does anyone listen? There are something like a million and a half volumes that are electronic today. The biggest hold back is a format war like the VHS vs Beta or IBM vs everybody but Apple battles of the past. Books will all be electronic, everyone knows it is coming, we can save the tree now.

Just one more example of an out mode that proves my point. A couple years ago I purchased this Palm unit that did everything, ebooks, newspapers, email, calendar, contacts, electronic transfers, it even understands hand writing. Now I have a telephone that is about the same size that does all that plus surf the internet, take pictures, make movies, be a GPS locater and there is no end to what it can do. So why do we need news printed on paper?

The question should be, where to buy a kindle  electronic reader? The future is electronic, just like on “Star Trek”, what I am waiting for is the transporter. I think I will continue this to include more out modes, if you have any good ones leave me a comment here or on my Internet Business Blog.

Accroding to the Mayan Calendar the world ends in 2012, Do you believe it?

They were right about so many other astrological events. there is supposed to be a galactic alignment which will result in a polar shift or something that could kill us all. may i add Nostradamus also predict this and many say he could have seen the future

Astronomically, what occurs on that day is an alignment between the galactic and solar planes. specifically, the winter solstice sun will conjunct the Milky way, which is the edge of our spinning spiral galaxy. The place where the sun meets the Milky way is where the "dark-rift" in the Milky way is – a black ridge along the Milky way caused by interstellar dust clouds this is a feature of the Milky way anyone can see on a clear midsummer's night. At dawn on the winter solstice of a.D. 2012, the sun will be right in this dark-rift, and the orientation is such that the Milky way rims the horizon at all points around. Thus, the Milky way "sits" on the earth, touching it at all points around, opening up the cosmic sky portal. The galactic and solar planes are thus aligned. "Sky portal" is just a term to describe the "opened sky" scenario apparent when the Milky way rims the horizon. this is not to be confused with the "dark-rift" itself."

heey something most be right about this, the mayan calendar ends on that date, that's true! but they ain't predicted the end of the world to that day or to any other

The Mayan calender makes no such claim, "atrological events" don't exist in reality, "galactic alignment" is meaningless babble, and there's no reliable prediction of any polar shift being imminent. you may certainly add "Nostradamus also predict this". It's just as wrong as all the other nonsense you've written, but one more bit of silliness makes little difference.

Another myth…. keep in mind that whatever Nostardamus wrote in his books was only interpreted after the event occured. His writings were very vague and unclear. same goes for Mayan calendar, what is so special about 2012? how would they know? did they have time machine? this is another one of those hoaxes to scare people just like Y2K.

One thing to remember is that you can't predict a future. if we could, I'd already hit a lottery jackpot and be sitting on the beach somewhere drinking tequila.

No sorry dont believe it and by the way for those who didnt know Nostradamus used the Bible for most of his predictions, do a bit of research if you dont agree you will be amazed!!!

There is no evidence, none whatsoever, that the Mayans believed the world would end in 2012. it is simply the end of a calendar cycle. No one knows what, if anything, will happen when the sun rises in conjunction with the so-called dark rift. indeed, the area is astronomically insignificant. Using the term 'portal' to describe this area of the sky is misleading.

No I don't believe it. the Bible says the world shall never end. it does mention the end of the age.but Jesus is going to set up his kingdom on earth for a 1000 yrs. I tend to believe a book that can't be disproved.there are more facts that prove the Bible than a 2012 fairy tale.just remember the y2k.

"They were right about so many other astrological events."

No they weren't. and you appear to not know the difference between Astronomy, which is a science, and astrology, which is complete bollocks.

i heard that it will be so strong, it will wipe all our computer hard drives clean. the earths magnetic fields also change directions after millions of years, and are due to change soon. maybe in 2012. no one has any ideas of what the effects of this could be.
it's not just the myans who predicted the end, and many of other people's predictions of the world's ending also lie in 2012.
i sometimes believe it. why would so many people point towards this date otherwise? is it just a coincidence
i think we'll have to wait and see

but the myan calender ended on this date. some people claim this is just where they chose to end their calender. they could have intended to start a new one after this magnificent change in space, starting time afresh. who says that just because the calender finishes, the world will end?

And where did you get this 'scientific' information of a pole shift triggering from? a website trying to sell a survival kit? So far, no scientists have confirmed anything like this will happen. it would be big news if they did. and pole shifts occur over a course of years, not at once.

I don't believe that it will be Doomsday. however, there is great science backing the predictions of some natural disaster (hint-hint*, the Mayans must've thought it would have been Doomsday, as something that could change the Earth's own North and South poles would have been hard to imagine. all they could predict was that something Man has never encountered before will occur. if the poles do change, as some scientists are suggesting, then the whole of the Earth's compostion material and the creatures living on Earth will be affected – most probably in a negative way).

I am predicting, obviously based on my own opinion, that something drastic might happen around or in December of 2012 – something regarding a change in the environmental atmosphere of Earth affecting our living conditions. What surprises me however is that many people are taking this thing non-seriously. Which might be the right thing to do, however, what if something did happen? Why risk your chances? most people will assume that this is like the millenium 2000 thing that everyone got hyped up about. for what reason, I don't know. People just made that up to get everyone scared and worried. it struck midnight and all I felt was the ground rumbling from all the fireworks going on. =

This is way different though. not only did philosophers refer to this same day as being something "big" – but scientists can also begin to see correlations between that time of 2012 and astronomical changes. Eeeek!

The Mayan calendar does not end in 2012. it merely passes a round figure.

The Nostradamus "prediction" did not exist before June 2003. it was invented after June 2003, when the big 2012 Hoax was created. since Nostradamus died in the 16th century, I feel confident in saying that Nostradamus did not resurrect in 2003 to write this prediction.

The Mayan themselves used their calendar to date events that they said would take place on Earth (and involve humans) well after the year we call 4000. obviously, the Mayans expected neither the world nor their calendar to end.
(The Mayan empire peaked around the 10th century).

Therefore, if the world does end in 2012, this will be proof that the Mayans' predictions are not very good.

The "end-of-the-Mayan-calendar" was invented in the late 1980s. We know who invented this idea and we know why.

The creators of the big 2012 Hoax used this idea and turned it into:
end-of-calendar = end-of-world
They are the ones who invented the idea that the Mayans predicted the end-of-the-world (the idea was invented after June 2003).

There is no Galactic Alignment. there is no pole shift.

The rest of your description is a mix of four different sets of lies that were invented by other people as their participation in the big 2012 Hoax.

It doesn't end on that date, so no, I don't believe the world will end in that year. One baktun ends. The "lead digit" rolls over to the next one.

It's the equivalent of the new millenium on our calender.

Actually that's entirely wrong.

"According to the Mayan Calendar" nothing in particular happens in 2012. that is a modern fiction.

Here's the thing: The Maya inscribed one… that's right *ONE* stone referencing the long-count date 13.0.0.0.0 on a dedication to a new building. That's it. that is the extent of the Mayan 'writing' on that date. The inscription is partially effaced and cannot be completely read. What is clear is that it does not pertain to prophecy, or dire events.

See http://decipherment.wordpress.com/2008/1…

"whatever Monument 6 has to tell us pertains to the dedication of the building associated with the sculpture. it has nothing to do with prophecy or the supposed, dread events that await us in AD 2012. about that the Maya are notably silent…or, truth be told, a bit boring."

Please tell us what "astrological events" they were right about? where is this documented?

There is no "galactic alignment". there will be no "pole shift" and such an event could not be caused by a "galactic alignment" even if it did happen. Nostradamus said *nothing* about 2012. if you think he did, please quote the relevant quatrain.

There will be no alignment between the galactic and solar planes. The two planes are skewed and will remain so for quite some time. The winter solstice *always* conjuncts the milky way. every year. The visible milky way is not the "edge" of the galaxy, but rather the galaxy as viewed from the inside. The galactic core is in the direction of Sagittarius, the 'edge' is in the direction of Orion.

During every winter solstice the sun is in the dark rift. it has been there every winter solstice for hundreds of years. The closest alignment between the sun and the plane of the galaxy as seen from earth occurred in 1998.

What affect will the opening of the "cosmic sky portal" have? please describe the difference in position between the Winter Solstice 2012 and the Winter Solstice of 1998.

You already made the claim that the galactic and solar planes would be aligned. They are not, and will not be in 2012.

To answer your question: No. I don't believe a word of what you just said. you freely mix some basic facts with wholesale fantasy, and invoke debunked claims to support your arguments.

This is so much horsepucky I don't know where to start.

— The Mayan calendar predicts *nothing*, nor does it end. Ever.

— The Mayans themselves never predicted anything. Ever.

— there is no way that they plane of the solar system and the galaxy can be in alignment in three years.

Basically everything that you just said is a lie. I wonder if this is abuse in Yahoo terms?

Its all fake news. The reality is quite different. They are trying to equate the probability with reality.

This is what I believe will happen on Dec. 20,2012
T.V: it is now 11:58 pm, it is now time to say our last goodbyes to everyone we know and love.
Me: Yeah right!
T.V:The world will end in 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2…..
Best Friend Arrives: Hey! I decided to come over! I wanted to spend are last moments as friends by eating pizza, lol
Me:The count down is over
Friend:Oh
Me: Wanna go to the mall tomorrow?
Friend:Sure
Me: I told you! The world was not going to end tonight! Its impossible
T.V: Oh no there is a riot in the streets!! People are making lawsuites to the station. We are sorry for the false alarm!
Us: HAHAHAHAHA!!!..
(and life goes on,and on,and on,and on…..)

Instead of just trotting out something which you've read on a crackpot website, why not ask what it means instead of presenting it as plain fact. The Sun is in line with the dark rift on the winter solstice of 2009, 2010 and 2011 as well as 2012. nothing special in that. The Milky way 'rims the horizon' at two diametrically opposite points on Earth right at this moment. nothing special in that either. there must be a cosmic sky portal opened right now. I wonder where it is? The galactic and solar (presumably ecliptic) planes are not 'aligned'. They intersect along a line which pointed towards the solstices in 1998, but this line has now moved away. Any two planes in space intersect along a line.
You have to try not to accept all this sort of doomsday guff at face value. Basically, if it claims anything unusual is happening on 21st December 2012….it's wrong.

The Mayans didn't predict that. recent frauds did. The accuracy of their calendar has been greatly exaggerated. that is just part of the hoax. Nostradamus predicted nothing. He just wrote vague verses that can mean just about anything, so they mean nothing whatsoever. He mentioned July 1999 not December 2012, and he was wrong about 1999. this alignment stuff is nonsense. We are at the edge of the Milky way, so what you repeat about it is nonsense. where did you hear such unadulterated 'balle"? you shouldn't believe everything you read. you should do more reseaarch on this, and you can see that the 2012 end of the world is just a pack of absurd lies.

The Mayan calendar doesn't actually say that the world will end in 2012 it itself just ends there. there could be multiple reasons why it ends there. I'm not saying that it couldn't possibly mean the end of the world because that could be what it means but it could be something else too.

gone go and look up online videos from ian xel lungold.
he talks about the mayan calandar and where he thinks its all going.
you need time to watch it though.
its very interesting and part of his lives work. that should give you what you need.

anybody disagree?

No, actually, it doesn't. it rolls over like Dec 31 to Jan 1 of the next year.

Astronomically speaking, what you are saying is utter nonsense. sorry!

Accroding to the Mayan Calendar the world ends in 2012, Do you believe it?

Why does nostradamus and the mayans and many many many others predict a event on 2012??

every single person that makes predictions, predicts something on 2012?? why??

why would the mayans lie about this????

A common misconception is that mayans predicted the world to end in 2012, which they technically did, but it is very different than the common misconception. the mayans actually predicted that our physical reign of this world will end, and we will move to another astral plane, therefore we will become gods. as for Nostradamus and others, I think maybe one predicted an event in 2012, and the others just expanded on that idea or stole it. Hope that helps!!

The mayans didn't predict anything. It's only modern day people who are interpreting the data in a way to fit their little Mayan calendar theory. They're the only ones who say something is going to happen in 2012. Everything they base this information on is just mumbo-jumbo that can't really be interpreted to mean anything.

The Mayan Calendar is the most accurate calendar known to man kind. It is divided in to many parts. When on era ends the calendar ends. So after 2012, they are predicting it will be a start of the "Golden Age". It is actually a very hot topic because people think that the end of the world will be around December, 2012. That is because the calendar ends on 2012. I would recommend Google it. it's very interesting!

The world is not going to end

It is going to be a great change!
It is the end the dark ages
It is the birth of the golden ages!

This will bring upon much change in this world for R.E.M. said it right as the "END OF THE WORLD, as We Know It"

Why 2012 is not the end of the world
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSlbejE2c…

Peace :)

Because thats when the Mayan Calender ends. some people actually think that "Judgment Day" has already begun. With all the Natural Disasters and Wars (i.e. Hurricane Katrina, War in Iraq, Earthquakes in Asia, etc.) some believe that the world really is going to end.

It's not so much about a certain date, but its about this period in history when humanity reaches an important point:

Globalization!

Its a period of transformation, and I think this video explains it well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g94iWT2SI…

The mayan calender ends in 2012..no one said it was because the world ends then.. that is just supposition. Nostradamus never said anything about 2012. That is just misinformation.

The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012 because that is the end of their cycle. It doesn't mean the world is going to end necessarily.

The end of the world is supposed to come on December 21 2012 because the Mayan calender ends.

they dont predict anything
thats the year they got tired of making theyre stupid calender

Thats when their calendar stops, they stopped making it

Why does nostradamus and the mayans and many many many others predict a event on 2012??

Is the world gonna end in 2012?

and dont gimme that ohhh they been predicting the end of the world foreva crap because 2012 aint like none of the dates from before because its in the bible code which also predicted a prime minister's assasination to the day. and dont give me that moby dick bs and if you dont know what that means it what proponents refer to. nostradamus predicted the haiti earthquake so why not 2012? the mayan calender is one thing…. theres also signs from the bible itself that appear to be appearing. Where gonna be the just like the people from the bible days you know when god used to talk. People throughout history have been wondering what it would be like to be there and now where gona be the ones to find out we gonna see jesus right? and george washington carver and general george washington? ooh ben franklin too. and nostradamus himself. i wonder if i could talk to him? I would say i was jus talking about you a year ago. everyones comng back from the dead right? we get to see our loved ones? should we even fear whats gonna happen in uhh 16 months months from now? the proof is there. We're gonna see dragons too right? and jesus will be a lamb? i hope all the kids dont disapear because that wiould be sad. well at least they dont have to see the terrifying dragon. Leviathan? According to the activist branch w/in the republican party, the pea party, that time is happeing now becaus eyou know who is the antichrist. being a black man that would be kinda sad if you know what i mean… besides their the ones whos puting it out there. (http://irregulartimes.com/teapartyfundamentalism.html). If 16 months come and go I'll donate a kidney. Now that I think about it aren't we all going to hell? we sin everyday likes its second nature.. Literally. so will the devil terrorize us in hell? No hell is not a place its not specifically referred to as a place in the bible. we all get our image of hell from dante's inferno not the bible. the devil works for god right? Ha Satan. the accuser. he tests people's faith on gods behalf? Jobs not the only one right? well he's the only the devil appeared before at least i think. why couldnt he appear in court when gerald mayo sued him? he would be under oath and we could ask him why he did that to adam and eve. Isn't that the whole reason the world is the way it is today? knowledge? speaking of knowledge, STAY AWAY FROM EPISTEMOLOGY! you should watch mobile fighter g gundam. Why do you carnivores eat meat? you would take parents away from their children so you could have them slain so they could feed that rumbling tummy? those baby calfs would wonder why rheir parents abandon them for most of their adult life until its their turn. at least they die knowing their parents didnt abandon them. I hate you carnivores more than anything in the world.you should go to kroger and try morningstar's veggie ground beef substitute.it goes well with taco seasoning and you could never tell the difference. Ooh sloppy joes too! see we vegetarians eat more than apples and lettuce but i'll past on the tofu. i wonder why they named their brand after the devil though? If i can ask you for one favor in this lifetime please do this one thing. Amuse me. approach this question as if the world is gonna end in oh uhhh 16 months. Who will you look forward to seeing come back from the dead? I hope the lions win the super this year. at least it would have happened in my lifetime but hey we got a god chance right peter king? Why is the NCAA colluding with the NFL? does this mean devin hester will get suspended for that craziness that happened at the university of miaimi from that booster? if jesus was a quarterback what would his rating be? eternity?

http://www.coasttocoastam.com has the occasional 2012er guest. They'll host a round table 12-21-12 of about 10 predictors. possible laugh fest.
http://www.yourcosmicclock.com has a more cyclical view.

wow im just going to answer the question itself… no

NO! Jesus said no one will know the time and the date of his second coming! not even Jesus knows God the Father and creator of this whole world will tell Jesus when to come and take us home!

Are you nuts or something? Who asks a question then rants in a very unedited way? I don't think you are really serious. I don't want to listen to your garbage. and your question is perhaps the most overdone question in existence. you need to clean your head out a little bit. Go back…think of something appropriate for the category and site…and EDIT your thoughts. this isn't some high school pajama party. I hope the world ends…no matter how asinine it is to think I can tell the future of anything…because this world could use a good flushing; starting with this supposed 'question'.

Sorry for the onslaught; but you really need to get a close look at the crap you're trying to feed us.

The world of ignorance is ending.

i'm not reading this essay

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqKsJwMhC…
That video pretty much explains it all

Nobody on the face of this earth knows when the world is going to end. Nobody. the world will end when it ends. It's a proven face that on December 25,(or whenever the world is supposed to end) 2012 the earth will come in direct sight with the largest black hole known. this black hole could have enough gravitational force to pull the earth out of orbit, thus ending it. But it's very unlikely. It's also a proven fact the Mayan calendar ends on 2012 simply because they ran out of room.

Im drunk as fu*k right now and all i see is a bunch of lines under "is the world gona ed in 2012?"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIX9UNkh9…

This will shut ur mouth.

Please don't write a book. Nobody reads that long of a question.

To answer you: No, the world will not end in 2012. the Mayan guy just got tired and said enough calendar already!

I can't be bothered to read your whole rant but needless to say 2012 is exactly like the thousands of other end-of-the-world predictions that have failed to come true. In fact, the 2012 predictions hold even less water since they are all based on gross misinterpretations of Mayan culture.

It is interesting to note only white westerners are buying this crap, the Mayan's themselves are laughing at them.

And Nostradamus did not predict the Haiti earthquake or anything else by the way. I defy you to show me a single even Nostradamus successfully PREdicted. and by PREdiction I mean people have to have known what he was talking about BEFORE the event occured, not tried to backfit his wretched poetry after the fact because that is POSTdiction and useless.

I guarantee you that a year from now you will be back talking about the next big end-times date and will have forgotten you even asked this question.

Is the world gonna end in 2012?

Is there anyone out there who really thinks 2012 is the end of times?

I try my best not to! because if its true I will not be able to go to college and get a career and more! lol I am only 16 and my teacher told me about this! at first a brushed it off like oh it just another Y2k or 6/6/06! But my teacher gives some much proof like the Mayan Calendar and this guy named Nostradamus!? this scares me!

There really is no reason to believe it will all end all of the sudden in 2012. there is nothing happening now that would make you think that.

I hope so. the end of the flesh age is a day to celebrate. Look what this sinful flesh has done to us.

Sounds like your teacher needs to go back to college.

Neither the Mayan Calendar (which never says the world will end in 2012 – the calendar simply runs out of dates, in other words, a new calendar begins) nor Nostradamus (which never mentions the year – I have a copy of his prophecies here at home) is proof of much of anything.

Not really, but it might be interesting. It's good to shake things up every once in a while.

Don't let it scare you God alone knows the future not man.

i can't pick either

I wouldn't worry about it a whole lot if I were you. I can remember talk of the end of time back in 1949 – 1950

the Bible doesn't say the world will end in 2012… the Bible doesn't name dates….

the Mayan calendar, Nostradamus, the Hopis, the Great Pyramid, the Aztecs all point to 2012… different eras, different countries, different cultures… as a Christian, I find it very interesting that they all indicate that the world will end even though NONE of these comes from a Christian source……….

but sooner or later the end of the world really is coming…… at least, according to the SCIENTISTS…….

I have not met any one yet.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. the next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. this is not a prediction of the end of the world.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

Dear I. W. J. Wondering,

I believe people are confusing several ideas . . . the plight of the poorly read and uninformed, perhaps.

You may think this is of interest:

No, there is no proof of any such occurrence(s). So, go ahead and plan your schooling, etc.

There may very well be some VERY strange and dangerous occurrences at that time, thou.

The earth is expecting what is known as a "SOLAR MAXIMUM" in the year 2012.

When the S. M. occurs, there is normally a GEOMAGNETIC STORM of varying degrees.

This occurs cyclically, every 11 years.

When this occurs, AND IF we get a very severe "Plasma Storm" due to the CORONAL MASS EJECTION, then YES, it could knock out all "Modern Communications Equipment" and even our Power Grids.

If it knocks out our Power Grids, not only will the Internet disappear but all electrical power in the effected areas.

Basically, it would put us in the Stone Age again, "Technologically Speaking".

The pertinent problem is that we have absolutely no way of predicting the magnitude of the Plasma Storm, and thus guard against it without shutting down EVERYTHING electrical at the time of the Solar Maximum.

I took your question seriously, so I have answered it truthfully, and provided information that you can access in order to find more actual scientific information on the subject(s).

This is nothing new. it has occurred before and is historically documented. there was, however, not as much "fragile electronics" at that time (q.v.).

So, unless you own an Electronics Company, Power Company, Computer that you are very reliant upon and such . . . . no need to worry . . .

Be well!

nobody not even the angles know when time ends so really idk

Is there anyone out there who really thinks 2012 is the end of times?

Mayans and Nostradamus predict the end of the world in 2012. Who just happens to be President during that time?

So your conceding defeat in 2012? interesting.

you are taking a break from world of warcraft right now arent you?

Mayans and Nostradamus predict the end of the world in 2012. Who just happens to be President during that time?

Why are people putting so much stock into this 2012 stuff? What else did the Mayans predict accurately?

Just curious why this date holds to be true vs. any other dates in our lifetime that were supposed to be the end of the world (Nostradamus?). I understand the Mayan calendar ends at 2012, but is that the only reason?

Nothing.

People that "predict thing" that turn out to come true also have thousands of predictions that don't come true.

If I had that much free time I would sit here and make predictions and at least one would come true. the world will not end in 2012, you can hold me to that.

Good question.

Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) end of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 end of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

I've heard this before and i don't get it. We have cars they had horses he have sky scrapers they had 1 story buildings so they couldn't have been smarter then us. so no i don't think the worlds going to end and the calender ending is the only reason i know of.

The Mayans also thought the sun was God. They sacrificed humans to the sun. do you believe the sun is God?

Nostradamus predicted aliens would arrive on Earth in the 1990s.

Rubbish.

Thats just because the Spanish Conquistadors came and wiped them out before they could write 2013.

I really don't know much about this at all, but i heard that they predicted 9/11 as a date of tragedy

Didn't even know about this, but its interesting lol….

its just something to talk about….Ppl dont really believe it!

people believe stupid stuff…

Why are people putting so much stock into this 2012 stuff? What else did the Mayans predict accurately?

Do you believe in 2012 World End?

What do you think of the Mayan long count calendar and the endo of the world? if the world does not end on Dec 21 2012, what will happan? anything? Do you believe nostradamus' prediction of a meteor strike is related? What about the planet Niribu – have you heard of this theory?

i feel as though God is ironic. we can't know if the world is gonna end that would ruin the whole surprise.
he probably changed his mind

the mayans ran out of stone

no i dont believe 2012 is gonna be the end of the world

The Mayan calendar simply resets on 2012. it doesn't end.

Be Quiet

Nope its not going to end.. they said in 2000 the world will end and the computer will stop working. .and we are in 2010? come on!

No no no, the Mayans just stopped making the calendar at that time. God could end this world this second, today, tomorrow. nobody knows. it really bothers me.

Planet Niribu? It's probably a new dwarf planet or a star.

I for sure don't believe in 2012 theory.

COME ON! this question gets ask a million times a day!

yep

and ill be laughting at YOU who dont believe when it does

yes ahhaha

no BUT i like the movie!!

No bro. but I do know that an asteroid could potentially hit earth in the years 2027, 2036, and 2039.

Its the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar, not the end of the world. Just like the roman calendar ends every year on December 31.

It can only end if I am still dirt poor and living with my Mom in two years.

you and other idiots are asking this question now

i cant imagine how many people will ask this question when 2012 arives

I do and don't. I don't because I don't believe the Mayan stop counting the calendar because they predicted the end of the world in 2012. although I'm against that belief in that way, I also think it might be possible because their are science theories that suggest that the earth's axis will tilt a little more causing gravitational pull changes that will cause more natural disasters leading to the end of the world.
So.. Who knows what could happen! I might not even get to graduate High School! Let's just wait and see :)

Don't be silly. its not the end of the world, maybe the end of our ecosystem, not the world. we are changing our environment so much so that weather patters are more erratic, ice caps have been melting, and currents have been shifting. its us doing this. How do we know that all this oil drilling hasn't caused a void to collapse shifted tectonic plates causing an earthquake? or sinkhole?

We don't but all of these things are natural phenomena. the date will come and go just like January 1st of 2000 did.

The world won't end in 2012. nothing will happen the Mayans just ended their calender their. as for the other 2, i haven't heard about them.

No. I used to be terrified, but I heard there's no science behind it and the fact that they made a movie about it made me much less scared. but I think on that date I'm going to be more than a little bit freaked, and the next day I'll be so happy. Then I'm going to rent 2012 and laugh like an insane person. I don't know what the nostradamus thing is (could you post an explanation please? I'm curious), and I read something that Niribu is entirely fake… even though I've never heard of it before today I don't believe it. it isn't gonna happen.

Well, I don't believe it will end because first, the Mayans' calender ends in 2012 just like the Roman calender ends at December 31. Second, they could probably run out of stones.

Do you believe in 2012 World End?
