Does anyone believe in 2012: The World's End Theory? Or anyone want this world to end?

Nothing but I just wanted to know if anyone really wants this world to end. Then there'll be the start of an after life. Whatever. I don't think the world will end but I think the humanity will end after about 35 years.

No, I don't believe it, but people love to capitalize on it and make money off of it…. mostly the religious folk.

If the world ended tomorrow I wouldn't do anything different than what I am doing today, I already live life to the fullest and I'm at peace and "American."

It's usually the religious folks that want it to end because they are miserable themselves – so why wish your miseries on everyone else??? Speaking in general….

gah!! i was just thinking about posting this question, then clicked 'show me another' and here we go again.
i'm a bit curious myself…..i mean NO of course i don't think the world will end on its own in 2012, certainly not cause of some stupid Mayan calendar……BUT there's a damn good chance people will make it end because they think it will, or want it to.

i mean, if i was a delusional Christian/Muslim/Other who thought i was going to heaven with 50 virgins and such, why wouldn't i blow up myself and some abortion clinic or whatever? and what better time to do it than when the world's supposed to end anyway?? i mean whattaya got to lose_?

hollywood and the retarded media will be hyping this like crazy…..remember the turn of the millenium? they took a minor computer glitch that i probably wouldn't've known or cared about otherwise, and they blew it outta proportion, causing people to stock up on water and such…….well that was NOTHIN compared to this….for the next 2 yrs we will be hearing about this more than anything……directors and authors will be laughin all the way to the bank.

i'm not sure what to do……keep on as usual, and just ignore the starving unemployed zombies firebombing mcdonald's, and the religious morons screaming in my ears…bands will write songs about this drivel, people will quit their jobs and go build log cabins…….hey that sounds good, anyone wanna start a hippie commune? i can make tacos.

I don't think the world will end in 2012. I think you have a very active imagination.

About your prediction for the world to end about 35 years from now: That allows you to join the thousands of others who have predicted the end of the world, so far with 100% failure. But that won't stop you or anyone else from making groundless predictions.

I know the world won't end. its another 1999 type of thing going on when nothing changed other than the clock and the calendar to the year 2000. Depending on your religion, just read and ask questions at church if you are really concerned. as a chrisitian, this nonsense does not even bother me.

it doesn't matter WHEN is it going to end.. it only matters that it's indeed going to end, that's when the hereafter begins. Now one has to ask him or her self, what have i done to save my self in the hereafter. for sure one has to search for the righteous track before it's all over

i really want the world to end cuz everyone in the world is selfish, and are desiring even if they have what they wanted. and know another thing the world is not gonna end by itself WE ARE THE ONE WHO IS DESTROYING IT.

I don't want the world to end. nor do i believe it will at that time.

sidenote: i do think it would be a perfect time to have a terrorist attack. if i was to plan one, it would be then.

Should read it, a Mayan Shaman explains that the white man has read it wrong.

The only thing that's going to happen on December 22, 2012 (the day after the "world's ending") is I'm going to wake up with a massive hangover.

2012 is when the mayan calendar runs out of numbers for their calculations… this will be the third time this completely arbitrary mathematical event occurs.

It's nonsense.

I don't believe in it and I don't think many people want it to end. But some people just really hate there lives and would be happier if everybody went down with them.

It's gonna end, the Mayans predicted it would. Contrary to some people there is no evidence that there are any other mayan calendars that go beyond 2012.

InHumanity will End. Thank God.

No, because 7 years of tribulation will occure before the world "ends".

Only Americans believe that end of the world BS.

I hope not…. but only jesus knows tho. that is a good thing and a bad thing. but im not that worried about it. its not in the bible so ill wait.

Yes and Yes

I dont know the mayan calander has been wrong but something big will happen

It's not gonna end but I will love to see if it happens.

no it is a coincidince and crackheads made it up smoking pot in there basements

i can't decide which question is going to drive me mad first…. 2012 or the one about women being silent in church…..

Does anyone believe in 2012: The World's End Theory? Or anyone want this world to end?

Are the uprisings a sign that the end of 2012 will really become a different world?

Don't get me wrong, I don't actually think anything is going to happen when the Mayan Calender ends…but I'm just using my imagination and exploring very unlikely possibilities. Do you think, with what has been happening in Egypt and the Middle East…that by the end of 2012, the world we live in could be totally different? Maybe we'll destroy ourselves…maybe we'll work together and find peace…

Not so much because of the Mayan prophesies, as I understand them, but because God revealed through the prophets Daniel and John the Apostle that things would be a certain way. God let me know what to look for. I'm still waiting for Turkey to erupt like the other nations. I'm not too concerned with Saudi Arabia or any nation in Africa besides Egypt, but more with the nations in the ancient Medo-Persian area.

Revelation 13
2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, —>but had feet like those of a bear<— and a mouth like that of a lion.

The bear, leopard, and lion are clues to Daniel 7; images which also appear there. The bear image was about the Medo-Persian Empire. It is where this 10 nation kingdom will form.

So 2012 could be an accurate time, but it's biblical prophecy that I draw from as the source for accuracy.

EDIT: I'm not understanding that we will destroy ourselves, but that it is right on the verge of the great Tribulation.

I think that if something does happen, it will only affect Mexico, southern United States and most of Central America. The Mayans were accurate, but they didn't know about the _entire_ world, only the immediate area.

So if something happens, we Americans are screwed.
That said, I don't believe anything will happen.

Well, what did Jesus say?

Luke 17:26-27 …'And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.'

So life will carry on as normal for the majority, right up until Christ Jesus returns at the second coming. so no, there won't be a "new" kind of world or a "different" kind of world, it will be the same sinful world as it was in Noah's day and today, where the majority of people reject God and live for themselves. http://www.endtimes-bibleprophecy.com/pa…

Just a question:
A lot of people are talking about the end of 2012 ( don't know how they came up with it in the first place)

Why do you put your hope up a date? Is your world going to fall apart when nothing happens?
Serve God from your heart , not for a date.
His day will come in his time not our time !

Nope but the earth quake in New Zealand is. Notice how natural disasters are becoming more common? Count the number in the past 3 years and compare them to in the past and you'll see their getting more and more closer together.

2012 is just the end of the Mayan CALENDAR, not the world. There's a difference.

This is reflective of the revolutions during the early 1900's.

So no.

These are momentous times.

No, it's more of a sign that the people of the Middle East are sick of their dictators.

No.

The world is constantly changing. Small revolutions happen all the time and a couple in early 2011 are neither signs that 2012 will be the end of the world not even a "different world."

"but of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! you do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The first century Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

For more information, about what Catholics believe about the end of the world, see: http://www.americancatholic.org/Newslett…

With love in Christ.

No…some signs of the end of the world are decreasing morality (gay pride, for example), and Satan ruling the churches, both of which are happening today. Judgment Day is may 21st, 2011. Pray now for mercy and salvation while there is still time and read the Bible, it is the infallible Word of God:

Romans 10:17 so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Are the uprisings a sign that the end of 2012 will really become a different world?

The end of the world is 2012 may you all rest in peace.?

Well as I already live in peace I don't see why I won't rest in peace. however I don't see the world ending in 2012 either.

That is a close year and the year 2000 was the last close year, and it is a question that is beyond me just like the past only happens once because there is a present and the future is a big wave function

I don't think the world is ending in 2012.
AFTER ALL, Buster and the Jonas Brothers have been to the year 3000.
Just kidding, that was lame.
But seriously, I don't think the world will end just because the Mayan calender runs out.

the world will end when i want it too,it is mine no matter what you say in front of people but it will get you in alot of trouble. and people who are left out of seeing my life cannot deside what to do with things for us all like the earth and and what all people are going to do when they finnaly get together in one place but only the ones that no one likes are not all in the same place any body and i want them to remember that real ggod after all you will even play along with me i am just glad only when people want to go see it do they ever get to see a society that communicates in order to hide the rest of their thoughts like this one
yahoo answers correct answer #5

This was predicted in the 60s 70s 80s and 90s

The end of the world occurs every nano-second, fortunately, it's rebuilt as the next nano-second occurs.

You can't seriously believe that. If you do, then prove it: send me all your money. you won't be needing it once the world ends.

Oh, and if you do your research, you'll know that even the Mayans didn't think the world would be ending in 2012.

I'm not sure if you follow astrology or not, but following the planetary movements and placements through history and which signs they've moved in and out through is a very important aspect of history…and our future…in astrology anyways

The following is an example of Pluto's transit through time…

1983-1995 PLUTO IN SCORPIO

The entry of Pluto into the sign of Scorpio coincided with George Orwell's perdictions of a totalitarian government and loss of individual rights in his famous book 1984. Pluto is extremely powerful in Scorpio, the sign that it rules, and this period was one of turmoil and revolution. during tthis era the Berlin Wall fell, the Soviet Union disbanded and became a commonwealth, Iran turned militantly conservative, Yugoslavia was torn apart by warring Serbs and Croats. Scorpio is the sign of destruction, and Pluto's transit was rife with world wide terrorism. Pluto's link to the underworld was seen in the rise of an international drug trade. The sign of Scorpio rules sexuality, birth, death, and the rebirth, and Pluto's journey gave rise to test-tube babies, surrogate parenting, cloned animals, and all manner of genetic engineering. The AIDS virus became rampant,underlining the themes of sex and death.

1995-2007/08 PLUTO IN SAGITTARIUS
Sagittarius is the sign of truth and open knowledge, and the years just prior to the millennium are characterized as the Information Age. Television reported events in full detail almost before they took place; the Web links us to information within seconds; endless streams of memoirs have left no one's secrets untold. in keeping with full disclosure, we witnessed a U.S. president's impeachment ( and aquittal ) that began with the exposure of his extramarital sexual affair. Sagittarius also represents foreign lands and far flung places and through the computer and internet, pluto has transformed the concept of distance. International trade and business takes place in seconds, retailers sell to the public directly through the computer and emaili instantly connects people on opposite sides of the Earth. Sag is the sign of freedom, adventure, and exploration. there should be a new spirit of frienddliness and spiritual sharing among nations. Pluto in Sagittarius brings deep hope and profound understanding. its negative influence is toward impractical extremes, but the optimism and enthusiasm that characterizes this transit should uplift human beings everywhere.

2008/09-2024 PLUTO IN CAPRICORN
Pluto's influence here should stress responsibility and the ethic of work, since Capricorn is the sign of discipline and ambition. Capricorn is the sign of government and long term security, and Pluto may have the effect of bringing a new world order into being. Individual nations may join in a system of world government that leads to greater stability. Star watchers are focused on the year 2012, which the Mayan calendar marks as the "end of the world." many spiritual movements believe this is a metaphor for change in "consciousness" when the human race will adopt a more spiritual value system. Astrologically, Pluto in Capricorn holds out the hope there will be an end to war.

By the time Pluto enters the following sign of Aquarius, the world will be in the Age of Aquarius. Pluto will bring even greater emphasis to the humanitarian and freedom loving qualities of Aquarius. this Should be a time of unimaginable scientific discovery, for Aquarius is the sign of science and future knowledge.
When pluto moves to Pisces, human beings may at last comprehend the fullness of Pluto's power and add to their knowledge of the meaning of life. Pisces represents the completion of the circle, the last step before moving on to the first rung of a higher ladder. by this time the human race may have evolved to a higher and more noble plane.

The end of the world is 2012 may you all rest in peace.?

Do you believe in the theory of the world end in 2012?

Multiple calendars of ancient peoples said that the world will end on 21/12/2012
Do you believe ???

Well, theres a lot of prove that 2012 might end. Nostradamus and the Mayans proved it by knowledge and the ancient calender ( if you know numbers they say you can predict the future). the ancient calendar is far more accurate than the one we have today. However, I do not believe 2012 is the end of the world, but I do feel that something catastrophic might happen.

There's a joke among the indigenous peoples that says they just ran out of space when they were making the calendar. the ancients and shaman believe that 2012 is the end of Time as we know it and the beginning of a time of greater peace. we are becoming more conscious. we are shifting energies from one of being Masculine and war-like to one of being Feminine and peace-like. we are making the shift to the other extreme. So it's not about the end of the world, only the end of time as we know it… a shift in energies and the beginning of a new cycle.

This is a good time to be alive :)

No ancient calendars say anything of the sort. It's all lies, cobbled together by the doomsday brigade who think they can add some credibility to their ridiculous predictions.
2012 will be just an average year and there's not a scrap of scientific evidence which says otherwise.

Do you believe in the theory of the world end in 2012?

~~~ It is not a 'theory' in any sense of the word, it is complete nonsense believed by those naive and gullible folks incapable of 'critical thought' (philosophy)!!
It makes as much sense as the Rapture or the 2nd Coming of Christ. might as well believe the one as the other.
Which is to say, I believe them equally without having to use up any bastions of disbelief because they're both absurd.
The Mayan calendar didn't say the world will end in 2012. It's just the end of an age. In 2012, the Mayans would have thrown out their old calendars, just like we threw out our old calendars after 2009.
****** ****** ****** ****** ******…. TITTIES!
Nope, but I do believe someone will point out its 12/21/2012 not realising your using the european date.
There are many theories about the end of the world. I've lived through about 5 of them so far, so I'm not quite concerned about 2012.
It's not a theory, just some crackpot superstition.
I don't believe so, but we will never be certain for sure ( until that day comes ) But nobody can tell you it WILL happen, it might or might not.
Peace
Don"t believe it. As a Christian the bible says that Jesus do sent even know when
NOPE, stupid myth. They were wrong before, what makes people think they're right now?
Do you believe in the theory of the world end in 2012?
Do you believe that the world will end on Dec21st 2012 as the Mayan Calendar ends?
However I don't think that this world would survive this millennium because of the nuclear waste, chemical waste, global warming, new breed of viruses,
and I don't think peace will last upon next 50 or 100 years. there are so many people hate in this world our country
Look, I will restate.
EVEN IF THE WORLD ENDS IN 2012, DO WE HAVE TO ACT LIKE IT'S ENDING NOW? JUST LIVE LIFE IT'S ALL WE CAN DO!!!
I feel better now, thank you for letting me vent.
no, I don't believe that. why would that date be so significant other than the fact we'll have new politicians in office screwing us over.
7 years after Y2K, and we already have another doomsday prediction.
Of course not it will be burned to a cinder on 7.7.7
The Mayan calendar isn't ending. The 13th Baktun begins on 12-21-2012, but that's only a new cycle.
The "world" (as in planet Earth) can and will survive anything we throw at it. when people talk about the "world" ending, they mean the world of humans. And we are quickly making our only home uninhabitable. But that's got nothing to do with 2012.
Do you believe that the world will end on Dec21st 2012 as the Mayan Calendar ends?
Who believes in the end of times in 2012? just curious..?
curious because i'm not to sure of what to believe in myself.. it's just that allot of church going people believe in the 2012 thing but then again their beliefs tell them to believe in Armageddon.and i don't know just wondering other peoples opinions let me know.. thanks peace
I believe in what is today but better yet prepared for we don't really know what lies tomorrow, so instead of worrying or thinking what will happen in 2012, better think of the things that you wanted to do in life for only God knows when will then end of the world be. Stay happy, believe in yourself and have faith.
Huh? Dying in 2012? Where'd you get that from?
*Laugh* just move on with your life. Live, laugh, and don't worry. Heck, I'd be too hyper to understand! Were going to live a while. I believe in God and love him with all my heart. Don't like it? Bite me.
John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Zlatko Burić, Morgan Lily, Liam James, John Billingsley, Thomas McCarthy, Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson.
It is nothing but BS. it has been distorted from a notion that the Mayan calendar indicates the end. not of the world but of the current cycle. people who think the world ends on that day are total and complete idiots.
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…
I hope NOBODY believes it. It's so crazy.
If you read the King James Bible, it tells you no one will know the time. So, no, no one knows.
I hope it happens but there's no chance of it happening. ZERO
In 2013,I will watch 2012 and laugh really hard……
I believe it… but there is a reason, I have my financial plans ready for until 2035 just in case… :)
oh yes, me and my friends will ride and wreak divine havoc on the land
Who believes in the end of times in 2012? just curious..?
2012-the end of humanity?
All these sources say that the end of the world will be December 21, 2012. the mayan calender ended that day and their are all these "codes" in the bible. Personally, I think its all bull. What do you think?
ahha me and my grandmother were just talking about this yesterday. she told me that if the mayan calander is true that the world isnt going to end but our old ways of life will. we will all find out who we truely are and start listening more to god and we will be in peace with everything and everyone and we will have an understanding of everything. IF the mayan calander is right… member everyone thought our old ways of life were going to end in 2000. and did it? no!
I would believe the mayan calendar before the bible, just because there were so many things edited and lost in translation over the years. the calendar is carved in stone. Frankly, I'm relieved, one way or the other. the human race is killing the planet and eachother over money and power, so maybe we deserve it.
plus I'm in debt.
the belief is that the world AS WE KNOW IT will end, but its not in the apocalyptic brutal fashion that we imagine..it doesn't even necessarily mean humans will cease to exist..the prediction is of a dramatic change in human consciousness, not that the entire world will end.
It's all bull. the Mayan calender just ends; it doesn't mean that tomorrow doesn't come after.
However, I've always put more stock in Mayan prophecies of doom than those of Christianity.
It indicates the beginning of a new cycle.
No one knows when the end of the world will come.
the world will end when God seperates the
Lamb
from the sheep
That's a lie.
2012-the end of humanity?
Where did the idea of the world ending in 2012 come from?
Is the world really ending in 2012? how do YOU know?
The Mayan Calender ends in Dec. 2012. so since heathens know better than GOD? that is when the world ends. what a joke.
God Bless Ya,
Chicago Bob
imasinner
There is more joy in Jesus in one day.
Than there is in the World 365/24/7
I know, I tried them both.
The Bible clearly teaches that someday God will intervene and bring an end to this present evil world. This will happen when Christ comes again to establish His Kingdom of righteousness and peace. as the Bible says, "In keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness" (2 Peter 3:13).
But the Bible also warns us against making exact predictions, or claiming we know precisely when Christ will return. just before he ascended into heaven, Jesus told His disciples, "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set" (Acts 1:7). at the same time, the Bible urges us to be watching for His coming, because it could happen at any time: "Be on guard! Be alert! you do not know when that time will come" (Mark 13:33).
Jesus did, however, tell us that certain events or signs must happen before he returns. for example, he warned that in the last days the world would be shaken by wars and disasters. he also said the Gospel must be preached to the ends of the earth. these signs are happening today.
The most important question, however, is this: Are you ready for Christ's return? you can be, by turning to Him in faith and trusting Him as your Lord and Savior. Don't let another day go by without Christ.
believer_in_jesus37421@yahoo.com
the idea came from the mayan calander which was basically a gigantic almanac, meaning it predicted how things would happen as time passed. the world ending in 2012 was brought forth because the mayan calendar stops at the year 2012.
DEFUNCT ATHEIST PROPAGANDA GROUPS
From people who have WAY too much time on their hands.
from scamming govornments who want their hands on our money.
Where did the idea of the world ending in 2012 come from?
What Will Happen at 2012?
Perhaps the most significant event of our time is the bombardment of a neutron star August 27, 1998 for five full minutes precisely five years to the day when Mars for the first time in ancient history came closest to the earth-signaling the end of the reign of Rome; two years later and two days later on August 29 Katrina brought down the regime with high winds and devastation-which all leads to the question: what will happen on 2012 when the Mayan calendar ends?
The 5,000 year old Mayan calendar when overlapping the 6000 year old Hebrew calendar aligns up with interesting occurrences at both the beginning and the end. The Mayan calendar begins in the year 666 of the Hebrew calendar; the year 1998 is multiple of 666 times three, while in the Hebrew calendar the letters made to compose the date 5758 could be rearranged to read word Nochus/Serpent.
How will the celestial alignment with the center of the galaxy-known as the mouth of the serpent-which will happen in the year 2012 effect the earth? some say the world will end, but that is ridiculous because God, the Creator has made many promises about the future that must come true-not for a few, but for us all. There is promised to be a thousand years of peace called the Thousand Years of Woman beginning in 228 years after the event of 2012.
Since the Mayan calendar begins on the year 666 in Hebrew calendar and ends in 2012 of the Roman calendar and 5772 of the Hebrew calendar with 228 years until the end of the Hebrew calendar all begs to be interpreted. The Creator uses numbers and events to send messages to the beloved creation. The number 666 added together makes the word Chai/Life it is the life energy of sexuality which culminates once in each thousand year period.
The year 5000 which occurred three-quarters of a millinium ago was the beginning of the time period known as Ysod/Foundational Secret when all the secrets of the world come out-the beginning of the Renaissance. In every 1000 year period there is an occurrence of the 666 the last happenstance of 666 happened in 1906 and for a hundred years has been playing out until 2006 when the regime fell. Six year later, 2012, the Mayan calendar ends.
In 2012 the Hebrew calendar will ascend to its highest point-5772; the number 72 is indicative to the essence of the human being. The 228 years left until the year 6000 which will constitute the beginning of the seventh and final millennium culminating in the ascension of the united human soul to a new planet-can also be interpreted. Written out in Hebrew the number 228 comprised the word Karachim/Fissures. The year 2012 is an opening, but after the window is closed there still remains a wall between Creator and creation.
On that day, the Name (the creation) and the Creator will be one.
What Will Happen at 2012?
Do you think the Mayan calendar ending in 2012 is truly the end of the world?
I have a prediction that it cannot be true! all that nonsense can't be possibly true, if it will, get a good bomb shield or something like that.
No…..
What a great question. It represents a closing of a grand cycle in time. It, according to many, will usher in mega changes, but I believe this is a good thing. if you do a goolge search on the year 2012, you will find links to all sort of info, positive and negative. Sort through it carefully, and listen to your gut instinct to find out what is true and what is not! Don't be afraid ! There's nothing to fear…
God Bless You….
NO.. because in Islam (maybe even in Christianity, not sure) Jesus is to return (he hasnt yet) and fight the evil on earth and bring peace back. He will marry, have children and live for 40years then die a natural death..this is all before the end of the world.. So 2012 is only about 5 years away… thats way too soon if you believe in Jesus' returning…
Or did they think of 2012 as the true end of the Mayan civilization?
You really have to ask yourself why so-called highly civilized people (such as us) would choose to put this interpretation on a primitve peoples ancient artifacts.
At the ripe old age of 45 I have lived through Y2k, solar storms and several supposed ends of the world as predicted by Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce.
We are still here, the world still turns, and someone somewhere out there is cranking out a book to sell to gullible people about the next supposed end of the world.
Stop listening to hype, go take a nice warm bubble bath and go to bed.
I don't think it's the end of the world, just the end of their calender.
Prefer not to think so. maybe they couldnt count more than that
think the mayans got the calender thing from the aztecs because the aztecs beleived that the end of the earth was in 2012 also. here it is.
the aztecs believed that there has been four ages of the earth we are in the fifth), each ending with some terrible event that happened to bring about the creation of some creature. for example, at the end of the second age, a great wind started blowing that blew everything off the earth but two people who survived by holding on to a tree. as a result of hanging on to the tree, they grew tails and became monkeys.
they believe that this age will end with earthquakes on december 22, 2012. so i think that the mayans took this idea and just created a calender to go with it.
As they said above, all it represented was the end of this grand cycle and not necessarily the end of time.
It's far more likely that the guy making the calendar asked "how far do you want me to go?" and someone else said. "how far can you go?" "A couple of thousand years." "That's good. if we need more, we can do it later." "Sounds good to me."
Seriously, the Mayan Calendar is a manmade construct just like the Julian calendar and the Gregorian calendar. God did not make them. The end of the world is not tied to a specific date on any calendar. We'll find out about it just a little bit before it happens if we get any advance warning at all.
No. according to the Mayan thinking the calender will start anew. but if you think it will then sell me everything you have for a penny on 12-31-2001 for a Penney.
The Mayan Long Count calendar isn't ending. It's simply going from the 12th Baktun to the 13th Baktun, much like ours went from 1999 to 2000 amid much hype 6 years ago.
And no, it's not the "end of the world" it's supposed to be a new beginning.
