Whom believe in end of days will occur in 2012?

"End of Days" or "End of Age" refers to the end of the age of the FISH.
The symbol of Jesus is the fish.
The astrological sign.

The next age will be Aquarius. The water barer.
The old age is coming to an end and the new age is coming. "The age of Auarius" is beginning.

THAT'S ALL.
"no end of man or the earth or anything"

Nobody. That's who.

No rational person does.

Crazy mad scientist!

nobody knows.

only those people who fail to use their brains believe this.

NO WAY
Nobody knows when the last day will be. somebody just made that up

maybe the atheists who believe in only science.

Whom believe in end of days will occur in 2012?

According to the prophet isaac newton the world is ending in 2060 not like mayans 2012?

then we have more time according to isaac newton? which do you believe in the prophet isaac newton or the mayan prophecy?

I like this Jew who claims Isaac Newton was Noah reincarnated.

http://www.inner.org/archive.htm

Isaac Newton the scientist?

He's a prophet now?

And who said you couldn't learn anything from answers hey?

According to the prophet isaac newton the world is ending in 2060 not like mayans 2012?

Whats up with 2012 and the end of the world?

have scientist proven with facts that 2012 will not be the end of the world?

READ MATTHEW CHAPTER 24, it'll answer your questions =]

Lol ask this in the religion and spirituality section. Trust me there's a HUGE barney going on all the time about this!! It's so stupid!!

No. nobody can predict the end of the world and no one can prove that it won't either

Whats up with 2012 and the end of the world?

2012 doomsday theory?

why did the mayans pick the day 2012 for the "end" of the world? why not 10/01/10? or another number like that? i want to know how the mayans came to that conclusion and why they picked the date that they did for the calender to end. i have read theories about what it could mean and what could possibly happen. i havent read any theories though about why the mayans predicted that date, because there are other dates that have the repeated numbers.

any answers?

The mayan calendar was based upon their complete master of atronomy. Each "event" on the calendar was marked by some astrological occurrence rather than an actual event. the "accuracy" referenced by the media is simple coincidence at best. anyway, to answer your question, they didn't "pick" the date per say. I'm not a scientist, so I don't know much about it, but the way I understand it is, there is going to be some astrological occurrence that happens only once every 6000 or so years. Scientists don't exactly understand the ramifications of this "event", but you can be sure that it won't destroy the world in some sort of chaotic, and fiery, ending.

The Mayans didn't use the calendar that we use, so the date 12/21/12 means nothing to them. their Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That's all there is to it. It's the same as our calendar changing from 1999 to 2000. the Mayans themselves never predicted the end of the world would happen at that time.
All the doomsday predictions attached to this date are, without exception, unscientific nonsense, perpetrated by frauds and hoaxers.

The Mayans didn't CHOOSE 2012 as the end of the world. You think, due to carbon dating, it's believed that the Maya civilization began 2600 BC. They made calendars from 2600 BC to 2012 AD. You figure they had to stop making calendars at some point, right? the Mayans made 4,612 calendars. That probably took generations to make. by the time they made their 4,612 calendar, they probably were already overtaken. People thought 6/6/06 was going to be the end of the world, too remember? We're all still here.

2012 is not a theory it is just a fairy tale from people that are trying to prove that they are equal to God that mankind created in order to make lots of money off of the suckers that believe in that piece of nonsense and you can believe that they are making tons of money off of that piece of nonsense…… Also those that buy in to that fairy tale will realizes that they have been taken to the cleaners on Jan 1st 2013…………………

from my understanding they didn't say the world would end their calender that they made just stopped. one funny theory for this is who would want to write out a calender for that long and they ran out of room

idk they probably got tired or something.or maybe it wasnt even meant for the end of the world maybe they wrote on the wrong thing and it was meant for how many people were in the village.

They didn't "pick" that date..that's just when the Mayan calendar ends. And because we've realized how intelligent these "heathens" were, we've come to rely on what their calendar is saying by the end of the world.

??? sorry but i don't understaaaaaaand…..!!!!=)
i'm italian…sorry…=)

"the Mayans" didn't pick 2012 as "the End Of the World".

Every single thing you hear about "the Mayans" is bullshit.

Google "the Long Count".

The whole "End of the World 2012" nonsense spans everywhere from "the Mayans" to "Planet X" coming back… It is all nonsense.

But scholars are bristling at attempts to link the ancient Maya with trends in contemporary spirituality. Maya civilization, known for advanced writing, mathematics and astronomy, flourished for centuries in Mesoamerica, especially between a.D. 300 and 900. its Long Count calendar, which was discontinued under Spanish colonization, tracks more than 5,000 years, then resets at year zero. "for the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle," says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."

Few people have destroyed the world more than Roland Emmerich. in his mega-hit "Independence Day," aliens laid waste to pretty much every metropolitan center on the planet, and in his eco-thriller "the Day after Tomorrow," much of the northern hemisphere finds itself buried under ice. in his third crack at presenting the apocalypse, this fall's "2012," Emmerich taps into the angst of thousands of astrologers, doomsday enthusiasts, and conspiracy theorists who fear that a massive cataclysm will strike the earth on December 21 of that year. yet unlike previous dates tied to the Earth's expiration, this one has its roots in various sources throughout history including interpretations of the Mayan calendar, astrology, and the ancient Chinese fortune-telling text the "I-Ching."

Though the plot is fictional, this scenario has occurred many times in the real world. in 1997 Michael Drosnin published a best-selling book titled "the Bible Code," in which he claimed that the Bible contained a code (hidden in numbers and letters) accurately predicting past world events. Drosnin's work was later refuted, with critics demonstrating that the "meanings" he found were simply the result of selectively choosing data sets from a vast sea of random letters.

Similar "hidden codes" were found in other books such as "Moby Dick" and "War and Peace," demonstrating that any sizeable text can produce such codes if you look long enough.

In psychology, the tendency for the human mind to find coincidences, patterns, and connections in random data is called apophenia.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Apophenia

Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. the term was coined in 1958 by Klaus Conrad,[1] who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness".

My own theory is that the Mayans were writing the calendar when they got exterminated during some kind of war for the new World.

the mayans calenders end their . they never said world ends. i think reason calender ends at 2012 is some thing like this

hello mr corqtze this frank he in charge of calender

nr cirqtze s why are kill frank

forget all that crap read the bible jesus could comeback now

2012 doomsday theory?

Do you think the Mayan Calendar which ends 2012, Science and Biblical Prophecy?

Could be a clue on a major Climatic event to happen?
Science warns us that the end of 2012 the Sun will be at it's most active Peak ever (Susnpots exploding) which is on sites like Nasa, new Scientist..the Mayans who studied the Sun also predicted a Catastrophe with the Sun in 2012
Your thoughts?

from what i understand it had nothing to do with the sun. i dont think anything will happen with the sun. one current thought is that an asteroid is heading for us and will hit us in 2012. others believe that is when prophecies in revelations will happen. in my opinion its going to be another Y2K. everyoen so excited for the end for no reason.

Haven't studied it enough to have an informed opinion, but I'm not really concerned about it either…If it is the end, fine, I've lived a full life, if not then perhaps it will be, as some claim, the beginning of a new era…We'll see when it gets here…

Let it blow, I hope it does it quickly

I could be mistaken… but the mayan calendar ends in 2012… and they didn't survive long enough to make a new one… that date is not biblical.

We go through phases of sunspot activity every few years… and no apocolypse yet…

Nyaggghh!
It's just an alignment of stars and stuff! it falls in the same category as a planetary alignment or solar eclipse! interesting astronomical curiosity!

Of course the Mayans 'predicted' it. they were obsessed with astronomy! they studied the movement of astral bodies and were able to extrapolate when everything would line up. It's only mathematics.

EDIT:
Other cultures also noted this because other cultures also observed the cosmos.

The Mayan calendar lines up with the time the Earth is in perfect alignment with the center of the Universe.

Past that….we have no clue what it brings. Could be a photon blast from the center, could make our poles shift in turn flipping the earth, it might create a gravity wave that pulls asteroids into the Earth, it could be related to Jesus returning, and it can relate to about 15 other things.

About 20 cultures, languages and items all point at this date….not just Mayan.

No the Mayans never could have known anything like that silly.

People have always been predicting the "End is Near". Eventually someone will be right, but I won't worry about 2012 any more than 2007. However, it will always be handy to know how to survive during a catastrophe and have some food and water for at least 3 days stored up at home.

The Mayans knew nothing about Jesus (that I'm aware), so they wouldn't have based their calendar on BC/AD, or nowadays, BCE/CE. So they wouldn't have that turning point at 0. So the number 2012 must be based on some other point.

Is it possible that the sun will explode in 2012? Sure, anything's possible. But your evidence doesn't support that claim.

that's not Biblical. we know that the earth will end roughly 1007 years post rapture (all Christians are gone), but since the rapture hasn't happened yet, I know for sure that the Earth will not end in 2012.

if there's a catastrophe with the sun and balls of fire rain down, boo-hoo. But I'm skeptical that will happen.

5 more years? I doubt it.

Did you know that many christians believed the world would end in the year 1000 AD?

Whereever they took it from, it seems that numbers have a certain magic to the people. the year 1000 turned out to be a year like every other one, and the year 2012 likely will be the same. If a maya astronomer would have lived to the year 2012, he probably would find that the count of his calendar has come to an end, and either start counting anew or make a calendar reform. I don't think he'd jump from a bridge.

Well, they may have been right but may be wrong. God does show us things in the stars, etc. Astronomy is a good thing to study. it was astronomers who followed the star over Bethlehem, and it represented that a King of Israel is being born. So, it does mean something.

But the Word of God being published/ preached in all nations is getting close to being fulfilled. So, then the rapture, then the beast & false prophet reign, then the wrath of God on the earth, then the Christ reign for a millinium. then the final Great White Throne Judgment…

Seems to me that 2012 is too soon for a sun blow up. Maybe a minor blow up. it has had some recent minor sun blow ups and has triggered some of the lately natural disasters & weather.

Sunspot activity doesn't mean the end of the world. Sunspots are a not a 'catastrophe' for the sun. even if it there is a large magnetic storm, the worst effect it would have on us is an interruption in communication technologies.

Well, if that has a corelation with the bible, then the sun is supposed to change from the perspective of those on Earth.

29"Immediately after the distress of those days
" 'the sun will be darkened,

So if that means that the sun itself changes I suppose you have something.

I think that it is very interesting that certain things point to that. Everyone seems to think that all the happenings will be in the atmosphere. Especially the Global Warming people. they do not seem to want to point to the sun heating itself for whatever reason.

The world will not end December 21, 2012.

Even if the seven-year tribulation period was to begin tomorrow (03/13/07), seven years would bring us to the year 2019.

From the end of the tribulation period, the world will continue on through the seven last plagues and the Millennium (a thousand years), to finally be destroyed after the battle of Gog and Magog.

Wow reading some of these answers that are using science and astrology seem logical. But since when has logic been warm, comforting, and loving. It's cold hard facts.

I prefer the Biblical reference to the end of the world than the astrological one. in my dictionary the definition of astrology is –
A pseudoscience claiming divination by the position of the planets and sun and moon.

Pseudoscience? – an activity resembling science but based on fallacious assumptions.

Divination is what God told us NOT to pratice because it would bring about evil and destruction. He told us not to trust in it or use it.

Divination – the art or gift of prophecy{or the pretense of prophecy} by supernatural means.

Hence, foretelling or fortune telling. just plain luck. which to me means by chance and NOT accurate. And IMO love has nothing to do with it. And I will choose love over chance and logic anytime. it is warmer and more comfortable and and according to the Holy Bible it will win over evil. :o ) So, I don't pay any attention to specific dates. Oh, and by the way the Bible also states that Jesus said, "there will be a new heavens and earth in which rightousness will prevail." And before that Jesus will call up His people to meet him in the clouds. from every corner of the earth and heaven. So, we will not feel the effects of the end of the world. Everyone & thing will be new. If we follow Jesus Christ now we are being altered already for that day. this is what I believe about any prediction including the year 2012. And any scientific prediction also. who made the earth? God almighty thru Jesus Christ. who better to know about the science of it than him? He put language in us and the reason and logic to begin with. But being the Maker, he knows more than His creation. :o ]^

Do you think the Mayan Calendar which ends 2012, Science and Biblical Prophecy?

Are there really so many longstanding doomsday predictions for 2012, or are theories themselves made up?

Let's be clear on what I am asking here. I DO NOT believe ANY of the 2012 'prophecies' or predictions. They are all utterly baseless and senseless.

Having said that, I am wondering if these many theories about the world ending or being transformed are real theories that have existed for many years, or have they just been made up in recent times?

many scientist's and people have been trying to predict the end of the world for many years. some of the theories are scientific facts that could happen at any day, any time. I personally believe we are in the days of ( the end of times) slowly the world is ending. but its not just going to end in one day. some of us just can not understand that we are all human. no one or nothing can tell us wen the world is going to end. no matter what calculates this number adding this time and day… blah blah blah

only the one above us knows the truth…

i have found some pretty ridiculous websites about buying tickets to a space shuttle that will apparently blast you off to another planet. they are so humorous to me. because some people are so dumb they will spend there money on this. to me this is just one big scam. to make money. but your tickets are 100% guarantee money back. "guarantee's your survival and placement on a new Earth-like planet via first class space travel aboard the USS Ark 2012". If you don’t survive, you get your money back. this guarantee is only good if there is an apocalypse on planet Earth. ….

this cracks me up check it out the website…..

live your life, like you do each day.
it may be the end of the world
but it has been for awhile.

god bless

Just to clarify regarding a source that was thrown in the mix, the Bible does not mention anything regarding 2012, neither by prophecy nor implication. it foretells the end of this system of things will begin when 144,000 faithful ones are "sealed" as integrity-keepers and then the "four winds" will bring an end to the world system. (revelation 7:1-4)

Apparently they are based on the Mayan culture+some math. I don't think people who are actual academic experts on the Mayans support this theory. therefore you can't really say it is "made-up", but it has no more or less credibility than self-taught Bible scholars and their theories.

it from the Maya's religion in Mexico. They do not see it as the end of the world but it just a spirit awakening. so it will be fine

The last major extinction was 26 million years ago, long before humans were here. All doomsday predictions are crap.

Most are entirely made up, or at the very least hastily re-interpreted using wild assumptions.

YYyYeah cant wait for 2013 so I can die, the world blow up, an we can all do it again…lol..

8 MILLION….
LIST THEM WHN YOU GET TIME.

The end is near, even science knows this. We only have so many resources and too many people, but it will not come to that it will end before that.
The world is coming to an end the way we know it. What will the end bring you? specialists and analysts that talk to the leaders agree the world has to end. and most believe it will be from something different. A meteor can kill us all, or the world can go into financial ruin and people will kill one another for food and supplies. If Yellowstone erupts it will send an ash cloud that will block the sun for decades and kill all things that grow and we eat. there are many scenarios, and the bible says it is coming to and end as well.
So it is going to end, what will you do then? God provides and takes care of his, those who come to him through Jesus. some say as many as fifty years, and some as little as one. the end is coming, what will happen to you and yours?
bless you.

As for 2012, no one but God knows the time and day it will be. but with what God has taught me I think it is close. it can be today, tomorrow or when ever God chooses it to be. but the 2012 guess by some, would have some reasons for believing. Though it will not be a day man says, it will be a day no one or not many or looking for. Like the day after that day, while many mock the belief. Imagine them mocking God and the rapture as Jesus returns. Eating those words would be hard and then answering for them on judgment day would be worse.
Only God knows the time and day. so whatever a man says will not be right. Know this as well, evil predicts or has some predict this to make them think the rapture is a crazy idea, thus keeping many from seeking and knowing God. with all the false predictions, more and more will not seek God. but it is coming regardless of these evil people doing this and keeping many from coming to God by the false predictions.
If you used to wonder about the rapture, I would guess that now you think it is crazy. Though it is not and is coming. Like I said above, this false prophets lead many from God and then with that thinking those who believe it crazy as well.
bless you.

Are there really so many longstanding doomsday predictions for 2012, or are theories themselves made up?
